CHAPTER TWENTY TWO.
IN TRAIN.It had been a few hours travelling, during it the group of friends tolerated the teenagers making reels and screaming. Some elders made light conversations with them.
They played, talked and listened to songs as well. The train had stopped to take a little break. Dariyah volunteered to get them something to eat, since they were out of stock of it.
Charles accompanied her to carry some of the snacks. "I don't know why you keep giving me company whenever I volunteer to go alone." Dariyah gave him a side eye.
"Isn't it obvious by now? I like spending time with you. Alone." Dariyah's breath hitched. She noticed even Charles seemed to be a bit scared to say the last sentence.
"And why is that?" Dariyah asked, looking down.
"I just feel really comfortable around you." Charles gave her a smile before walking ahead to the snacks shop.
They ordered their snacks and talked with each other. The boy had the audacity to make normal conversation as if he didn't just make her heart race as his car does.
"We come bearing gifts!" Charles exclaimed l, dropping all the snacks in front of them.
"How much longer till we reach Kodaikanal?" Carlos asked, he was back to his self after taking a short nap.
"Just 4 more hours. We'll be there by 7PM." Rishi answered, Carlos nodding his head eating chips from his Lays Packet.
"Try these. These are called Stick Chips since you know they look like sticks. It's spicy but I guess it'd work out for y'all." Sneha passed the chips to Max, who ate without any questions asked.
Max widened his eyes at the taste, he took a handful of chips and then passed to the others.
"If you guys want something sweet, then have these barfis as well. It's a popular Indian sweet snack. These are made from peanuts and honey." Dariyah offered the pack of barfis to Charles.
"These are actually really nice." Lando complimented with his mouth full of stick chips but regretting soon after the spiciness from the handful of chips in his mouth.
Rishi quickly offered him the bottle of mango juice. He drank it giving and then giving her a grateful look.
"Too much isn't always good for you, L." Lavina chuckled at Lando, he just replied with a glare and sticking out his tongue.
The group of friends continued joking around clicking pics with each other that they decided to post after their trip. The girls were against it but the boys reassured them they'd handle it.
4 hours went by just enjoying each others companies. Dariyah hadn't realise that she fell asleep on Charles' shoulder while everyone was talking.
When she woke up she found all her friends to be asleep on each other. Lavina was asleep resting her hand on the window, Rishi asleep on her lap. Lando and Carlos were sleeping resting their heads on the wall behind.
Max and Sneha were asleep with her legs on his lap and her head on Dariyah's shoulder. Charles was the only one who wasn't asleep, he was looking at his wallet with a smile.
