Taylor's POV:
I was in the bathroom getting ready for the day when Travis came in, "Don't freak out Tay but, Cora's crying downstairs and she wants you." He says. "Oh my god!" I say, running downstairs and running over to Cora, who was sitting on the floor in a ball crying. "Oh baby. Shhh. I'm right here." I say, hugging her. I hear her uneven breathing, "Baby, I need you to breathe for me. Please try." I say. "I-i-c-can't!" She stutters. I stand up, still holding Cora and rock side to side singing:
We were in the backseat
Drunk on something stronger than the drinks in the bar
"I rent a place on Cornelia Street"
I say casually in the car
We were a fresh page on the desk
Filling in the blanks as we go
As if the street lights pointed in an arrowhead
Leading us home
And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
That's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
And baby, I get mystified by how this city screams your name
And baby, I'm so terrified of if you ever walk away
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
Windows swung right open, autumn air
Jacket 'round my shoulders is yours
We bless the rains on Cornelia Street
Memorize the creaks in the floor
Back when we were card sharks, playing games
I thought you were leading me on
I packed my bags, left Cornelia Street
Before you even knew I was gone
But then you called, showed your hand
I turned around before I hit the tunnel
Sat on the roof, you and I
I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
That's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
And baby, I get mystified by how this city screams your name (city screams your name)
And baby, I'm so terrified of if you ever walk away
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
You hold my hand on the street
Walk me back to that apartment
Years ago, we were just inside
Barefoot in the kitchen
Sacred new beginnings
That became my religion, listen
I hope I never lose you
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
Oh, never again
And baby, I get mystified by how this city screams your name
And baby, I'm so terrified of if you ever walk away
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
I don't wanna lose you, hope it never ends
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
I don't wanna lose you, yeah
"I rent a place on Cornelia Street"
I say casually in the car.
"I'm right here, sweetheart. Shhh." I say. Her breathing goes back to normal. "I love you mommy." She says. "I love you too, angel." I say. I carry her upstairs to her bedroom and lay her down. "Don't leave mommy!" She yells. She's so clingy right now so that means that I can't leave her and I don't want to leave her. "I'm not going anywhere. I'll be right here when you wake up, okay?" I say. "Okay." She says.
Coraline's POV:
As I slept, I could feel Taylor by my side. I snuggled with her and I knew she would never leave me. I opened my eyes for a second and I see Taylor sleeping peacefully. I decided to go back to sleep so I don't wake her up. As I started to go back to sleep, I felt like I was going to throw up. "Mommy! I'm going to throw up." I say. "Okay baby. Come on." Taylor says. We get to the bathroom and I immediately start to throw up. I begin to cry after a couple minutes. "It's okay. Shhhh. You're okay." Taylor says while rubbing my back and holding my hair. After for what seemed like hours, I had finally stopped throwing up. Taylor sensed that I was getting clingy again and picked me up. She laid me down and laid next to me. "Good night my angel." She says. "Good night mommy." I say back.
Taylor's POV:
After Cora threw up, I carried her back to her bed. I laid next to her but I wasn't sleeping. I wanted to make sure that she was sleeping. A couple minutes later, Cora woke up. "Good morning angel." I say. "Good morning mommy." She says still sleepy. She snuggled with me and I rubbed her back. "What's on your mind baby?" I ask. "I don't know." She says. "Is it something that has to do with your parents?" I ask. "No. It's something else." She said. "Are you uncomfortable with telling me?" I ask. "Kinda. But you're my mommy now so you need to know." She says. "Okay sweetheart. Whenever you're ready. No rush." I say. "Okay." She says. "I have been thinking about my siblings a lot." She says. "Okay. I didn't know you have siblings." I say. "They're in college right now so that's why when you adopted me, I didn't tell you." She said. "How old are they?" I ask. "Um, I think 17." She said. "They're both 17?" I ask. "Yeah, they're twins." She says. "Ohhh okay. Twin brothers, sisters or brother and sister?" I ask. "Twin brother and sister. Tray and Tessa." She says. "They applied to have me in their care but they were denied." She adds, tears threatening to fall. "Oh baby. I'm sorry. Shhh." I say, pulling her closer. At that moment her phone buzzes. "What?! No way!" She yelled. "What happened?" I ask. "Tray and Tessa just texted!" She said excitedly. "Really? That's amazing baby!" I say. "They want to come see me. Can they please come here? Please?" She says. "Yeah baby. They can come anytime." I say. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She says, hugging me tightly. "You're welcome baby." I say. "They're coming in an hour!" She says. "Okay baby. Let's go get ready." I say.
