Author's Note 1 PLEASE READ: This is set in the summer after the first round of The Eras Tour in Paris finished and Ellie is about to turn 11 years old.
Taylor's POV:
It was Saturday June 21st, 12:00 pm when I hear my doorbell buzz. Ellie is with Tree for the day because it's the only day I have off of my tour and Ellie wanted to spend time with Tree. I go to my door and open it. I see a little girl with blonde hair like mine, just a little bit lighter. She looks kinda familiar. "A-awe y-you T-Taylor?" She asks, stuttering in a 2 year old voice. Then it hit me. "A-Addie" I ask. She nods. I pull her into a hug. "Do you want to watch Friends?" I ask. She immediately nodded. We sit on the couch and she snuggles me. I could tell she was going to be clingy since we haven't seen each other in years. When me, my mom and my dad moved to Nashville, we had to leave Addie behind. She was too young at the time to move so she had spent the years that she had without us in a foster home. "I want to be wifh you fowevew." She said. "You're here now, baby." I say. "I don't want to leave you agawin." She said, her voice breaking and tears threatening to fall. I pull her into a hug and let her cry into my chest. "Shhh. I'm here. I'm right here, Addie. I won't leave." I say as I stroke her hair. After a few minutes, she calmed down. My doorbell buzzed again. I take her hand and walk to open the door. "Oh my god! Adaline Marie Thomas!" A man screamed at Addie. That's not her name. She immediately got scared and moved behind me, clinging to my waist. "What is wrong with you?! Running away like that?!" He yelled again. I could hear her silent cries. She was so scared of him. "What do you want with my sister?" I asked sternly. "Adaline is your sister?" He asked. I nodded. "Her name isn't Adaline Marie Thomas. It's Adaline Marjorie Swift." I say, my sister and maternal instincts kicking in. "Oh. I didn't realize that she is your sister. I'll leave." He said. I closed the door and picked her up. She sobbed into my shoulder. "Hey, he's gone now. It's just you and me." I say. She calmed down after a couple minutes. " Can I call mom?" I ask. She nods. "I'll be right back. I promise." I say. "Hey, mom." I said. "Hey, Tay! What's up?" She said. "Um, how do I explain this?" I asked. "What do you mean?" She asked. "Addie came to my door a couple hours ago." I say. "Wait, your sister Addie? As in, Adaline Marjorie Swift?" She asked. "Yes, mom. She came back." I say. "What do I do?" I ask. "If I was you, I would take her in." She said. "Thanks mom. I will let her know that you say hi." I say. "You're welcome, honey. Love you." She said. I hang up and walked back to the living room. "Mom said hi." I say as I sit back down beside her. "Hey, what's wrong?" I ask. "You'we going to send me back, awen't you?" She asked, starting to cry. "Oh no. Baby, I won't. You're staying right here with me." I say. "Weally?" She asked. I nodded. "I love you, Teffy."
She said. "I love you too, Addie-bug." I say. I hear the door open, "Mommy! I'm here!" Ellie said. Oh no. "Taylor? It's Tree and Ellie! You here?" Tree said. "Teffy?Who are they?" She asked. "Ellie is my daughter and Tree is my publicist." I say. "Momm-." Ellie started but noticed Addie snuggling me. "Ellie, this is my little sister, Addie. Addie, this is my daughter, Ellie." I say. "Hi!" Ellie said, a little too loud and it kinda scared Addie. "Taylor, why didn't you answer?" Tree asked in a stern voice while walking into the living room. "Taylor, please tell me you didn't." Tree started. "Teffy? I'm scared." Addie whispered. "It's okay." I say. "Tree, this is my little sister, Addie. Addie, this is my publicist, Tree." I say. "It's nice to meet you, Addie." Tree said. I could tell Addie was a little uncomfortable. Tree came over and whispered in my ear, "Do you want me to take Ellie for the night?" "Please. I just want to get Addie settled." I said. She nodded, understandably. "Ellie, how about we have a sleepover tonight?" Tree asked Ellie. "Yay!!!" Ellie cheered. A few minutes later, Ellie and Tree left and Addie was starting to fall asleep. I picked her up and carried her to the guest bedroom next to my room. "Good night, Addie-bug. I love you." I say as I kissed her forehead and went to my room.
Addie's POV:
"WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID?!" My foster dad yelled. I started to cry. I miss Teffy. Teffy keeps me happy. I wish she was here. "GO UPSTAIRS NOW BRAT!" He yelled again. He followed me, stopped me in the hallway upstairs and started hitting me with a very hard belt. "Pleawse stop! I'll be bettew!" I said as I continued to cry. He didn't respond. He kept on hitting me and yelled at me. Then it all went black.
I woke up and screamed. Then I started crying. I hear the door open and see Teffy's silhouette walking calmly towards me. "What's wrong, Addie?" She asked. I looked at her and I knew that I had fear in my eyes. I cried even harder. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here." She said as I cried into her chest. "Do you want me to sleep with you?" She asked. I nodded through my sobs. She laid down beside me and sang 'The Best Day.' I immediately fell asleep in her arms. I'm home.
Author's Note 2 PLEASE READ: Hi guys! So I have decided to make Adaline a 2 year old. I know, so cute! I know this is a long chapter but I had a lot to write since it's a new bond with Taylor and her 2 year old sister. Hope you enjoyed it! Please comment if you'd rather read about Addie instead of Ellie. Thank you!
