Father and Mother Jeon saw the young girl pointing at their older son who was walking toward them.
Mother Jeon's face changed colors.
Lisa lowered her voice as though she was nervous. She said to Mother and Father Jeon, "I saw it. He was the one who pushed Big Brother into the water."
"That's impossible. Are you sure you are not mistaken?" Mother Jeon's brows furrowed with a look of disbelief.
"Uncle, Aunty, I am not mistaken. I saw him push Big Brother into the water and jump in immediately after." Lisa looked puzzled. "Why did he jump in after he had pushed someone?"
Father Jeon studied Lisa closely once again. The young girl's eyes were pure and clear, and she looked befuddled and emotional, somewhat nervous. It didn't look like she was lying.
He glanced over at his older son who was walking over to them and looked at him deeply.
"Kook!" Mingyu walked over quickly. He appeared to be deeply troubled about something. "Kook, how did you get back? I was looking all over for you."
"What happened, Mingyu?" Mother Jeon asked anxiously. "How did Kook fall into the lake?"
Mingyu took a few deep breaths as though he finally felt relieved and went on to explain. "Kook was standing there dazed next to the lake. He suddenly wanted to jump inside when I was distracted. I wasn't able to get to him in time, and he already jumped into the lake when I noticed something was wrong."
Mingyu acted as though he was tired and weak. "I jumped into the lake after him and helped him out. When I got out of the lake, Kook had already run away on his own. I tried to follow him, but I failed to and quickly lost sight of him. Luckily, he returned to the hotel on his own."
Mingyu let out a big sigh of relief, acting like a Big Brother who doted on his little brother but also seemingly exasperated as though he didn't know what to do with him.
Upon hearing his version of the story, neither Father nor Mother Jeon could tell right away who was telling the truth.
"You...... you are lying." Lisa scolded Mingyu with her nice and sweet voice. "I saw you pushing this Big Brother into the lake."
Mingyu's eyes darkened some, and he looked at Lisa coldly. "And who exactly are you?"
"That doesn't matter. What matters is that I saw you pushing the Big Brother in red into the lake by the south gate. Then, you just stood there and watched him struggle to swim!"
Lisa looked at the pretentious Mingyu and met his eyes directly as she said righteously, "You didn't think there was anyone around, but I saw the entire incident. You are a murderer."
Mingyu's brows furrowed deeply as though he was extremely bewildered. "I have no idea who you are, but please stop with your nonsense. Kook is my little brother, and I would never do anything to hurt him. I wanted to save him from drowning, not to push him to drown."
Mingyu's voice sounded helpless, "Mom, Dad, I have no idea what is wrong with this girl. Why would I push Little Brother into the lake for no reason? Besides, I'm stupid enough to want to hurt Little Brother this way."
Mingyu was dripping wet. One way or another, his version was more convincing than the one provided by the girl who was entirely dry.
Lisa knew that she had the shorter end of the stick right now.
She knew that she would not be able to take down Mingyu with just one try. Thus, her only purpose today was to decrease Mingyu's credibility and plant the seeds of doubt in Father and Mother Jeon regarding Mingyu. At the same time, she wanted to make Mingyu worry enough that he would not take actions against Jungkook for the time being.
With just one minute of physical time remaining, Lisa didn't have any more time to argue with Mingyu. Thus, she restrained herself from rebutting against what he said.
"Do you not believe me? I know what I saw. He was the one who pushed Big Brother."
Lisa put on an angry look when she saw that Father and Mother Jeon still doubted her. She then said in a delicate voice. "Whatever. You can choose whether to believe me or not. Either way, I am not going to meddle in this matter anymore."
Having said that, Lisa stomped her feet a few times as though she was upset before taking off.
