Lisa tried to grab the wooden rod, stunning Crew Cut into a daze. He tugged at the wooden rod, but it didn't budge. "Ghost. Ghost. There really is a ghost......"
Frightened, Crew Cut let go of the wooden rod and backed away on his trembling legs. It was clear that his knees were on the verge of buckling from fear.
It was obvious that he had done so many bad things in life that he was worried about bad karma catching up to him.
Lisa's lips curved upward. She reserved nothing and smashed the brick down over Crew Cut's head under his frightful gaze. Crew Cut collapsed slowly onto the floor.
Had she known that Crew Cut was so afraid of ghosts, she wouldn't even have overthought so much and would just perform actions to scare them.
"Let's go."
Not having a lot of time to think, Lisa shoved the wooden rod into Jungkook's hand and held his other hand with her hand.
The two ran outside.
Lisa saw the other man's cell phone lying on the table as she walked past.
She took the phone and used the man's finger to unlock the phone before dragging Jungkook and running out madly.
Lisa didn't know how to drive. She had always been chauffeured around. Right now, she deeply regretted not learning how to drive.
She dragged Jungkook behind her as they ran out, planning to make calls as they escaped.
On the screen, Lisa saw that the phone did not have much battery left. It would be dead shortly.
Lisa exchanged a sun to appear for a minute and phoned Mother Jeon directly.
She must contact the Jeon family quickly and have them send men to fetch Jungkook.
She dialed out, but the phone kept ringing. Nobody picked it up.
Lisa was worried. She felt extremely anxious. She worried that the phone would run out of battery the very next minute.
The phone was finally picked up after a long while.
Lisa's breathing was heavy. "Mom, hurry up and come get Jungkook."
She spoke very fast. "Jungkook was hidden inside an abandoned red-brick house. I have no idea where we are. There are mountains by the house. A stretch of woods in front of the house. A highway outside of the woods with no other houses around. The phone is dying. You need to send people fast."
On the other end of the phone, Mother Jeon listened to the unfamiliar girl's voice. She was stunned and also had a hard time believing the girl.
Mother Jeon's voice was hoarse and shaking. "What's happening to Kook? Who are you, and how do you know where Kook is?"
Lisa knew that Mother Jeon was being doubtful of her. She quickly explained herself. "Jungkook is right here with me. He is safe now, but he is hurt."
"Kook is hurt?" Hearing that her son was hurt, Mother Jeon couldn't help but start to cry.
Lisa quickly put the phone next to Jungkook's ear and said, "Hurry and say something to Mom."
Jungkook's eyes lit up when he heard that Lisa also referred to Mother Jeon as "Mom" just like him. He obediently said into the phone, "Fine me."
"Kook!"
From the other end of the phone, Mother Jeon, who had always been an elegant lady, lost control of herself for the very first time. Choking back her tears, she said "Kook, how are you feeling? Where are you? How badly are you hurt?"
Lisa took the phone back and said to Mother Jeon, "The phone will run out of battery shortly. I can't give you too many details right now. I'll send you our location after. Please send someone quickly. I worry that the kidnappers will return."
Mother Jeon was still in shock and also felt pleasantly surprised. Before she could recollect herself, the call had been disconnected.
As soon as she had hung up on the phone, Lisa quickly sent Mother Jeon their location. The phone ran out of battery and died the second after she sent out their location.
