The redness on Lisa's burning face from the fever drained bit by bit.
She then summoned Lee Know. "Does Jungkook currently have any memory of me transmigrating into the past?"
Lee Know milky voice sounded almost cowardly. [Host, your assignment has already been completed?]
Lisa frowned. "And?"
Lee Know: [The minute that you completed your assignment, the system would erase all of Jungkook's memories about you. He will have a vague idea of your existence, but he would not remember your appearance, your voice, or even your name.]
Lisa's lips were turning pale as well. "I don't want him to forget about me. Can you give him his memories back?"
She had thought that Jungkook might forget about Odd Big Sister, but he would at least remember their other times together.
Now, she was not even married to him. He didn't even know who she was.
She no longer crossed paths with Jungkook in any way.
Lee Know stammered: [Host, once the system has erased the memories, there is no way to return them.]
Lisa fell silent.
Eunha felt complacent when she saw Lisa with her head lowered and not saying anything.
So what if Lisa was pretty? She was just someone that was crashing under their roof. Did she really think she was Young Mistress Jung? And that she was good enough for Jungkook?
"Mom, let's hurry up. We still need to pick our outfits and have our hair done. We are running out of time." Eunha raised her voice. She looked at Lisa the entire time, watching her reaction closely.
She said purposefully, "I am sure Jungkook will be there tonight. From what I have heard, Mrs. Jeon had been worried about Jungkook's marriage. She must have invited all these girls from the upper class over, so she could pick out her daughter-in-law."
Sure enough, Eunha saw Lisa's hands balled up tighter and tighter.
So Lisa truly had feelings for Jungkook. She really had no idea about her own status!
Lisa lifted her head up. "I am going too."
Mother Jung looked troubled. She went on to explain, "Lali, I only have two invitations, and I had to grovel for them from a good friend of mine. You know the status of the Jeon family. Many would kill to attend the banquet. You are ill and should be staying home. Just let the servants know what you want to eat, okay?"
Having said that, Mother Jung got ready to take off with her daughter. She didn't want to aggravate Lisa anymore.
"Where is the banquet being held?" Lisa's throat was dry from the fever, and her voice sounded hoarse.
"At the Jeon's, of course." Eunha gloated. "Not everyone can step foot inside the Jeon's."
"Lali, get some rest, and stop worrying so much, okay?" Mother Jung then left with Eunha.
The room quieted down. Lisa looked around the room, and she found that everything looked very familiar. She had lived here for many years in her memory.
Lisa got up and wanted to get dressed. She wanted to go look for Jungkook. Even though Lee Know said that he no longer knew who she was, she refused to believe it until she saw it for herself.
She didn't have a nice long conversation with Jungkook before she had traveled back. Had she known that Jungkook would not even know her after her last trip, she would have......
Lisa's brows furrowed deeply. She would still have traveled back to help Jungkook be cured of his disease.
Lisa's lips tightened, and her eyes dimmed.
Eunha and Mother Jung went to pick out their evening gowns.
"I wish we had gotten the invitations sooner. That way, I would have more time to get ready. This is so last minute." Eunha griped.
"You should just be glad that we get to go. If Mrs. Li's youngest daughter wasn't sick and couldn't make it, she would not have let me have the invitations." Mother Jung picked out a pink gown. "Try this one on."
"One would need to be very fair to wear a pink color like this." Eunha was not fair. A dress like that would make her seem even darker.
She recalled how fair Lisa looked. This dress would look very nice on Lisa.
Eunha harrumphed at her own thoughts. So what if Lisa would look amazing in this evening gown? She didn't even have the opportunity to wear a gown like this nor attend the Jeon's banquet anyway.
