Lisa was blushing. She recalled how he had washed her hands in the past and kissed the tips of her fingers afterward. Worried that he would do the same in front of others, Lisa quickly took her hands back when he was done wiping them.

"Thank you."

Jungkook pinched his lips shut, feeling a little disappointed. Nevertheless, he continued on and used the same wet towel to wipe his own hands. It did not bother him at all that it had already been used on Lisa.

Sitting across from them, Jennie had a look of envy. She nudged Taehyung with her elbow and said, "You should learn a thing or two from him. Look at Jungkook taking care of his wife."

Taehyung had a look of surprise on his face.

He had been Jungkook's assistant in the past. After the kidnapping, however, Jungkook had stopped going into the laboratory and didn't need an assistant like before.

When Jungkook returned to work recently, he noticed that, compared to how he was in the past, Jungkook was much more open and no longer stayed in his own world. He had made a marked improvement in his interactions with the world around him.

Jungkook, receiving the compliment, reflexively looked over at Lisa, his eyes lighting up with a longing look.

He looked like a puppy, who was dying for comfort and a hug from its owner.

Lisa couldn't help but smile. She reached out and stroked his head. Smoothing the strands of hair that were sticking out, she said to him, "You are so sweet."

As always, Jungkook was very easy to woo. All he needed was those few words to be happy and satisfied.

During dinner, Jungkook also learned to serve Lisa. He even poured some juice for her. He was stiff and clumsy, but every time he tried to do something, it would melt Lisa's heart.

Truth was, she asked nothing of him. So whenever he took the initiative to be kind to her, it would always move her heart.

Right then, through the glass next to them, Lisa saw a middle-aged man walking past, holding the hand of a little boy, who had his head lowered as he followed. Suddenly, hee bumped straight into a woman in high heels.

The woman, who also had her head lowered while looking at her cell phone, didn't avoid the child at all. Caught off guard by the collision, she fell onto the ground with her cell phone.

After the woman in heels had gotten back up, she pointed at the middle-aged man angrily and shouted at him.

The woman looked angry. Lisa could feel her anger even through the glass window.

The man had a look of contempt on his face, but after the woman picked her phone back up and showed it to him, he immediately looked displeased.

Lisa saw the man raise his hand and smack the little boy next to him.

Outside, the woman with her phone in her hand had not yet given up. Her phone screen was cracked, and she wanted the man to pay for the damage.

"Don't think I will let you go just because you pretended that you smacked your son once. This is a brand new phone, and I barely had it for a week. Now that you have broken it, you need to compensate me." The woman said with a long face, "You can either pay me in cash or get me a new phone. Your choice."

The man did not look happy. He said angrily, "You were the one who didn't watch where you were going. Besides, he's just a child. Why are you so petty with him?"

The woman in heels patted the non-existing dust off her clothes and pushed her lips out some. "Don't try to use the child as an excuse. He bumped into me and broke my phone. You are his parent, and you are responsible for him. If you don't pay up, I am going to call the cops."

The middle-aged man became frantic. He smacked the boy on his head violently. "Must you walk with your head lowered all the time?"

He smacked the boy hard again and said, "What is the point of me raising you, huh? All you do is get into trouble and drag me into it with you."

The woman in heels looked impatient. "Hurry and pay up. Don't bother putting on a show."

The middle-aged man didn't plan on paying her. He grabbed on to the child and continued to hit him. "All these years that I have raised you... You are good for nothing other than wasting food!"

"Pay up, pay up, pay up! I should just give you away as a payment."

"All you do is bring trouble. You won't even cry when I hit you. I am telling you to cry now!"

"I say to cry! Apologize to her......"

The middle-aged man smacked the little boy repeatedly over his head. They drew a lot of attention from the passersby.
