Mingyu's room was kitty-corner from Father and Mother Jeon's.

By now, he had already changed out of his wet clothes and returned to his usual gentlemanly look.

Sitting on the edge of his bed, he rubbed his chest, which was still hurting. He clearly felt someone kicking him violently in his chest when he was standing next to the lake. The fact that his chest was still hurting right now was proof.

Nevertheless, Jungkook, who was still struggling in the water then, was the only one there at the time other than himself.

Mingyu took deep breaths as he rubbed his chest with a long face while recollecting the supernatural event by the lake. How did Jungkook get to the edge of the lake when he couldn't swim?

In addition, who was the girl calling him out in the hotel lobby? Was she really near the lake and witnessed him pushing Jungkook into the water?

Mingyu's eyes dimmed. He regretted making a move against Jungkook impulsively.

Honestly, he thought it was a good idea at that moment. Pushing Jungkook in the water would have killed two birds with one stone. He could have caused Jungkook to suffer, and he could have saved him and gained more trust and appreciation from his parents. But, now, all of that fizzled out.

Jungkook was not traumatized, and he might have put himself under his parents' microscope.

Mingyu pinched the center of his brows and reminded himself to not make any more rash decisions in the future.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

Mingyu went over to open the door.

"Dad, what's the matter?" Mingyu quickly made way for his father.

"Are you hurt after jumping into the lake?" asked Jiyong as he walked inside Mingyu's room.

"I am fine. Where's Kook? Is he okay? I was just about to go check on him. Is he resting right now? I worry that he will be traumatized after the incident." Mingyu played the role of a concerned big brother very well.

Father Jeon studied him long and hard before he started to talk. "He's alright. You brought up interning at the office a couple of days ago. I have given it some thought. You are still young, just a freshman in college. There's no rush. You should be focusing on your school work right now."

Mingyu was a bit shocked, but he quickly had it figured out. His father refused to have him join the company.

He did not let his emotions show. "Sure, Dad. I'll listen to your advice. I can apply my knowledge in the company further down in time."

Jiyong patted him on his shoulder but didn't say anything else.

After Father Jeon was gone and the door was closed, Mingyu's face dropped completely.

They did put him under their microscope.

On their way back, Lisa allowed Jungkook to hold her hand as the two walked back to the hotel leisurely.

Behind them, the bodyguard maintained a distance from Jungkook. He could see Jungkook turning his head toward his side from time to time and talking to himself.

The bodyguard knew of their Young Master's autism, and as such, he did not find these behaviors odd.

He saw that Young Master Jungkook seemed very happy.

The sun began to set, but there were still a lot of tourists around.

Lisa suddenly caught sight of a couple walking in their direction. She was surprised to see them here.

It was Kang Taehyun, who had on a blue checkered shirt. His smile was sunny and somewhat silly. He was holding hands with a girl who was obviously his girlfriend.

What a coincidence to run into Jungkook's schoolmate from his university, who would also become his assistant in the future.

Taehyun, too, spotted Jungkook, and he greeted him enthusiastically.

Jungkook did not notice Taehyun; he only had eyes for Lisa.

That did not bother Taehyun, who took off with alacrity with his girlfriend in tow.

Lisa gave that girl a look. The girl looked delicate and decorous.

The two of them walked past them and continued on their way.

Lisa looked back and noticed Jungkook's shadow elongated on the ground. There was nothing on her side. It was as though she didn't exist at all. She was merely an accident that belonged only to Jungkook.

Jungkook's pitch-black eyes were sparkling since he had gotten out of the cable car. The corners of his lips curved a little, the smell of Odd Big Sister lingering on the tip of his tongue.

He liked the taste of Odd Big Sister.

Jungkook looked at Lisa happily and allowed her to find her way inside of his shell.

Suddenly, Jungkook looked down blankly at his own hand that was holding onto Lisa's.

Lisa's fair little hand was gone. He could no longer feel her softness.

Jungkook looked up abruptly at the spot next to him. Lisa's pretty face was also becoming transparent. Slowly but surely, she was fading in front of him.

Under the setting son, the bodyguard saw the smile disappearing instantly from the Young Master's face, and his shadow casted on the ground looked lonely once more.
