Chapter 17

Layla knew Zoo would be there of course, but she didn't know how she'd feel seeing him. Layla sat down a chair next to Myles and Angely chatting with them.

"Hi Layla, it's nice to finally meet you," Zoo's twin said shaking Layla's hand, Layla shook her hand looking up confused. "I'm Willie's twin sister, Lena."

"Oh, nice to meet you," Layla smiled,  as she sat down. The rest of the night, Layla was sitting and chatting with all of Zoo's siblings and cousins.

"Thanks for having me, the food was great,"Layla said putting on her coat and hugging Zoo's mother.

"Your leaving so soon, you have to stay for dessert," Zoo's mother insisted.

"I would, but I gotta get home before it gets dark,"

"Oh please," Zoo's mother laughed. "Willie will drop you off, don't worry bout it. Stay stay."

Layla nodded staying for dessert, which was the pie she bought, along with cakes and fruits. When Layla was done she threw the paper plate. Zoo followed behind her, leaving the two in the kitchen alone.

"Hey," He said making her turn around. She stared at Zoo who was standing in the middle of the kitchen. "I'm sorry, I know it makes you mad when girls say stuff like that, but all of that is in the past. You the only one I care bout-"

Layla's face softened hearing him speak, she approached him planting a kiss on his lips, which turned into a lip locking.

Layla pulled away looking up at Willie, "I did overreact a little."

"I missed you," He smiled hugging her and grabbing her butt.

"I missed you too," Layla said wrapping her arms around his torso, kissing him once more.

"Bruh my nieces and nephews boutta look so bomb, yess!" Zoo's twin said entering the kitchen.

Zoo and Layla turned around facing her, and began laughing. They both walked out the kitchen holding hands, Layla goodbye waved to everyone then followed behind Zoo.

"You wanna drive?" Zoo asked once they got to the car. Layla nodded, as he tossed her the keys, she unlocked the doors getting into the driver's seat. She backed out the driveway and began driving. Meanwhile, Zoo was making a video capturing her in it, he posted on his social networks captioning it "Happy Thanksgiving from us." 

The next afternoon, around 1 Zoo got up and to make a few swerves. After making a few hundreds he went home changing into some jeans, a white shirt, and Barron 9s. He threw on his peacoat, then left Monty's house going to a flower shop down the street.

"Is Layla here?" He said walking into Layla's workplace.

"Yeah I'll go get her," Jenni smiled going to the back. Minutes later, Layla come out smiling once she saw Zoo.

"Just wanted to come see you," He smiled handing her the flowers.

"Aww thanks baby," She smiled taking the flowers and kissing his lips.

"What time you end?"He asked sitting at the counter.

"She can leave right now," Jenni answered smiling. "Y'all go have fun."

Layla laughed taking off her apronX v and grabbing her bag. She clocked out, waving her coworkers then heading out the door with Zoo.

"Where we goin?" She said sitting in the passenger seat.

"It's a surprise," Zoo began driving making his way to New York. He had planned to spend the entire weekend with Layla there, to take her shopping and just make her feel special. It was part of his apology.

Paterson wasn't far from New York so within 40 minutes they had gotten there. Layla had fallen asleep so Zoo drove to the hotel, he had booked. Zoo wasn't rich, but what ever he earned he made sure to spend on the people he cares most about. Of course all his money came from trapping, that's how he paid for his clothes, shoes and car. To him dirty money was good money.

"We're here," He said tapping her shoulder. She opened her eyes looking at the hotel, she still didn't know where they were, but she was just tired. She got out the car following him into the hotel. Zoo got the keycard to the suite, then went up with her.

The suite was nice, he didn't want anything too fancy.  It had a large king sized bed, a balcolny, and a large bathroom. It had endless windows and it was nicely decorated.

Layla was too tired to even notice the environment so she took a nap on the bed, while Zoo watched TV. Within an hour, she was awake looking around confused. She saw Zoo napping on the couch with the TV on, she looked out the window seeing Time Square.

"We in New York??" Layla squealed loudly. Zoo woke up wiping his eyes, looking at Layla. She turned around facing him, "Why we in New York?"

"Just enjoy it, my treat," He smiled hugging her from behind.

He checked his phone seeing that it was just 5, so they had plenty of time to visit. Zoo called a cab, and began heading out to different stores. They started with the adidas store, picking out tons of things.

At the register Layla reached for her wallet, but Zoo stopped her, "I gotchu." He pulled out a bunch of hundreds out his wallet, paying for both then grabbed the bag heading out the store. The rest of the shopping, was pretty much the same, Zoo paying for the both of them.Around 11, they made it back to the hotel.

"Goddamn I'm tired as hell," Zoo said dropping the bags then plopping down on the bed.

Layla laughed placing her bags down sitting on the bed next to him. She kicked off her Bordeaux 7s.

"Take off your shirt," Zoo looked at her confused, but did as he was told. "Lay down."

Again, he did as he was told. She walked to the bathroom finding bath oil, then sat on Zoo's lower body. She poured some oil down his back, and slowly massaged his back and shoulders. She figured it was the least she could do for everything he had done for her.

"Aww shitttt," Zoo said enjoying the massage. "Thanks babe."
