Taehyung's pov:

I have started to believe in the theory of yin and yang. I think people can never be entirely good or completely evil. If someone claims to be either, they are lying.

This theory could even apply to love. It isn't entirely pure and innocent and selfless. It can be sinful, selfish and destructive. Its only about time before we experience and go through with all these stages. I'm selfish at the moment and I plan on being that way for a very long time. Being selfless only brought me pain and disappointment.

It wasn't a shocker when his mother, Jeon Yura, approached me with a plan of abducting Y/N. Her eyes hold no warmth, they don't show worry or compassion. They are simply cold. The only reaction I've ever seen her give is her dislike towards Y/N when she laughed at something Jungkook said in the royal hall after their wedding. She was physically repulsed by Y/N's smile.

Even though we shared the same interests, I didn't trust her in the slightest. If she could betray her own son, she could do all sorts of evil out there. She gave me the maps of the castle and the entry ways most of which were very well placed and developed. If it hadn't been her helping me, I think it would have taken months for me to get past the castle gates, that is, if I were to ever ambush them at the time of war. The walls, the concrete, the metal, the thickness, the leveling of ground and even the placement, everything was precisely put and detailed.

I chose that particular day to execute the plan because the mourning and the chaos of receiving four more dead bodies would have shifted the focus towards just that. Just when they would have thought, the bad part of the day was over and they could take a breath of relief with their guard lowered, the actual nightmare began.

I rode Blaze knowing well, my boy wouldn't make a sound even if he increased his speed. We both grew up training together, so I would know he is the best and the most efficient horse in all of Ulsan. A few of my men accompanied me. I warned them before hand, if they alert the enemy in any way before we reach the castle, I'd chop their heads off. It wasn't just an empty threat, I meant it.

It was easy to get inside, following the maps and going through a passage that was hardly ever guarded or even visited in a long time. The growing weed and tendrils of ivy plants were proof enough.

Lady Yura had warned me about their General. She was afraid what if he ruined our plans for us and I somewhat couldn't deny, even when I've only met him once. Only a fool would have been oblivious to the threatening aura he radiated when I was talking to Jeon. Even though I glanced at that man once, I knew he was capable of ending me in a snap without a weapon. The entire time we talked his eyes didn't leave me once. He hardly blinked. His stance showed how confident and courageous he was. Nor was he intimidated in the presence of two kings.

The first thing I took care of was making sure he stays out of my matters.

Author's pov:

The door to Jeon Yura's room opens and shuts. The timid footsteps approach the luxury chair. The former queen sits straight with her fingers interlocked on her knees, her eyes following the movement of the younger woman that just entered.

The lights of the room were switched off. The room was illuminated by the shinning silver blue light that entered through the window glass and spread out wide. The curtains fluttered softly, having an intimidating factor of their own.

"Your Majesty, you called for me? At night?" The woman speaks lowly, timidly, warily. It was past ten and she was called directly by the lady's personal maid. It had to be big. And so, it was worrisome.

"Yes, Miho." the lady bends forward, letting the moonlight reflect on her face making it look a tad bit younger.

When the woman doesn't say anything, sitting there and just looking at her, Miho begins to shift uncomfortably on her place, her fingers fidgeting. "Um, what for?" she asks carefully, not wanting to offend her by asking a question that might make herself look defiant.
