Author's pov:

The day everyone was dreading was here. The day, the fate of the two major kingdoms would be decided, along with the people. Despite the adrenaline and courage in the hearts of the soldiers and even the citizens, a fear so solemn lay deep within. The fear of failure, the fear of losing everything.

Jungkook felt the same. But it sparked in his bones a rush to conquer. The rush to win. Losing wasn't an option for him. He had vowed to fight till his last breath, till every fibre in his body, every cell wasn't destroyed beyond repair.

If his arms were rendered useless, he'll use his legs. If his legs were cut off, he'll wield his sword with his mouth, but he won't stop. It had become a major goal to watch Taehyung fail. That man needed to suffer infront of his eyes.

His blood would drip down his body, he'll see his life flash before his eyes, the hope to survive completely numbed out but death wouldn't greet him with open arms. He will not die. He'll live to see his empire fall, his legacy overthroned, his respect and integrity crushed along with his dream of having Y/N. It will be far beyond his reach.

"Its time, Majesty." A soldier calls out to him. Jungkook nods his head. Giving one last glance to the tonic bottle kept on the bed side, he leaves the familiar yet so distant room. It wasn't warm and welcoming or lively like before and he was just going to bring back what it needed.

Namjoon steals a worried glance at Taehyung who was swarmed with soldiers, all set to leave for the battle. Something was really off putting about his younger brother and he knew, it had everything to do with his last visit to Y/N. He needed to talk to her.

He hides his surprise when he sees Taehyung approach him. "Is there something you need?" But he couldn't hide his worry. It was clear from his expression, he didn't want Taehyung to go. Unlike him, their father was extremely encouraging about it. He was proud that his son was following his footsteps. And he couldn't be more ashamed to call that man his father.

"Still no news about Yuki?" Taehyung asks coldly, fixing something on his armour, not meeting his brother's eyes.

"No." Namjoon replies quietly. He was worried, so worried. Yuki has never been outside of these walls and now she was missing. What could possibly be the reason? He couldn't help but imagine the worst happening to her. No matter how distant he was to his younger sister, overprotectiveness came naturally as the eldest. "Won't you meet mother before you leave?" Taehyung hardly ever entered her room, neither did he ask about her well being anymore. This abrupt change of his behaviour was having a bad impact on the poor woman's health. Her condition was getting far worse, too soon.

"We're leaving." He ignores the question and begins to turn around.

"Tae." Namjoon calls out softly making him stop in his tracks. He had so much to say and so less time to say it. "Be careful." He watches Taehyung's shoulders drop a little like he was disappointed. No other reaction comes as Taehyung slowly disappears from his sight. A feeling starts to eat at him. Maybe he should have said something more, something he really wanted to say.

"You're not coming with us, Princess." Jimin stops the lady from getting on the horse, eyeing the armour she wore. How did she even get her hands on it?

"And why is that?" Yuki huffs out seeing the horse reject her pats.

"He doesn't like you, thats why." Jimin's voice drips in sarcasm as he stretches his hand out. The horse immediately nuzzles his head into it as Jimin gives a 'see that' look to Yuki.
