Eventually, the three had gotten to the cave. “Here it is!” Jesse exclaimed, rushing in. “Jesse!” Lukas replied, running after him, Aiden staying behind.

“Petra? Are you here?”Jesse called out, looking around for her. “She’s gotta be in here somewhere.” He said under his breath. He kept looking and looking. He knew she had to be in here somewhere.
“Where could she - AA!” Jesse screamed, falling. He looked at what he slipped on. “Blood?” He asked. He immediately started worrying. “Oh no. PETRA!!” He called out, standing up quickly and looked for her again.
His eyes widened when he heard crying. “Petra?” He said under his breath. He followed the crying noises. He eventually exited the cave, still following the crying. But soon enough, the crying turned into laughing. He began becoming confused, still going.
He soon saw Petra in the shade, turned away from him. “Petra... Are you good?” He asked gently, walking closer. As he got closer, it slowly stopped. He was still far away from her, but enough to see her more closely. She stopped laughing abruptly, making Jesse freeze in his tracks.
“Petra?” He asked again. Her head snapped back slowly. But she never turned around to look at him. It just went in a 180. He heard her neck crack. Her neck turned into an un-human way. Like she was a creature or something. His eyes widened as he backed up, seeing the purple eyes staring back at him.
Some of her skin was decaying, underneath showing some bones and flesh. Some were still hanging on, being pure black, the skin hard like bark. Black blood dripped from her head, and her sword pierced through her head. She fully turned around, coming out of the shade as he backed up. Her arms were decaying, some of her bones were showing, the remaining skin either being covered in purple veins, including her eyes. Her legs had holes in them like her arms, bones turning black.
She was infected. She’s been infected. Just standing there. Jesse froze in fear. This wasn’t her. It wasn’t Petra. It was like someone else in her decaying body. She was gone. That wasn’t her. It was someone,- someTHING- in his friend’s withered corpse, staring at him. Her- IT’s menacing gaze never breaking from his.
“JESSE!! JESSE THERE YOU-” Lukas yelled out, then looked at him, then Petra. Lukas knew what had happened. “Jesse. We need to leave.” Lukas whispered. “I-I...” Jesse stuttered, not being able to describe what he felt. He wanted to help her... but what was there to help? “Jesse, she’s gone. It’s too late. We need to lea-” Lukas began, his and Jesse’s heart sank as they heard a crack, looking straight at the withered corpse.
It had a small smile. It grew with every crack, becoming an elongated smile. With every crack, there was a growing fear. What would IT do? “Jesse. Let’s. Go.” Lukas answered. Jesse stayed silent, his gaze staying fixed on the being. It lunged at them, Lukas grabbing Jesse’s wrist and running immediately. It began running after them, cracking echoing as they entered the cave.

Aiden was waiting outside the cave. He became alert when he heard loud and quick cracking. “RUN!” Lukas screamed. Aiden didn’t hesitate. He booked it.
