Ellegaard, Olivia, and Jessica began walking and followed Ellegaard. “Where are we going?” Jessica asked. “Soren’s. I don’t think Ivor’s going to help us if he technically made this thing. Plus, he's probably going to be more corporate than Ivor.” Ellegaard answered.
“Alright, got my trust.” Jessica shrugged, following them. “So, they didn’t look like themselves?” Olivia asked, generally curious about the infected. “Yup. They were horrible looking. Honestly, I couldn’t tell you which was worse.” Jessica shuttered.
Jessica froze in place, seeing someone near a tree, dying and coughing. “What’s wrong?” Olivia asked. Jessica pointed to the person. “Oh my god!” Olivia answered with horror. “Geez.” Ellegaard replied, looking at the person. Jessica rushed over, willing to help them, Ellegaard sighing and Olivia over following.
“You okay!?” Jessica asked, trying to look at the person. The moment he was in a bit more light, her eyes widened. “Aiden?” Olivia asked. “Yeah? The fuck do you want?” He glared. “The hell happened?” Jessica questioned, seeing the multiple scars on his body.
“That fucker... wasn’t... dead.” He groaned in pain. “Who?” Olivia requested. “Maya. We killed her for a reason. She wanted to die. There was no point in saving her, y-yet she was still infected.” He whimpered. “That’s why she had an arrow through her heart.” Jessica answered to herself.
Jessica noticed his arm. “You almost got infected.” She noted. “No s-shit! Lukas had to fucking amputate it. There really was no point huh.” Aiden answered in a pissed tone. “What should we do?” Olivia asked.
“Just leave me to fucking die or something!” Aiden groaned in pain. If it wasn’t on a body part that could be cut off, there really wasn’t a point to save them. Jessica stared at him, debating. She didn’t want to, but yet, he couldn’t be saved. He was already near dead and showing signs immediately with dark crimson blood bleeding from the huge scars on his chest.
Before she could think any longer, a crack could be heard. “Probably one of them going to finish the job.” Aiden sighed. “Just leave me to fucking die.” Aiden added. “No way! I’m not letting someone die, even if they are a shitty person.” Jessica answered.
“As backhanded as that is, I don’t care! Just, leave!” Aiden yelled, gripping her collar, threatening her. “No. I refuse.” Jessica answered, glaring. Olivia immediately stood up, Ellegaard already giving distance. “We need to leave, now!” Olivia answered.
The stomping got louder, Aiden immediately pushing away Jessica with all his strength, Olivia pulling her back near Ellegaard, witnessing the creature stomp toward the tree Aiden was that. He looked straight at them, like he was going to kill them. His attention swiftly changed to Aiden.
Its sharp claws dug through Aiden’s chest. It began to tear out Aiden’s organs. One. By. One. First, it stabbed his intestines, pulling them out as painfully and gruesome as possible. Then, his liver, his stomach, his lungs, then finally, his heart. His rib cage was broken in, blood all over his body. It was never gentle on him.
Jessica witnessed it all, frozen. She couldn’t believe it. What was once Aiden’s friend, now ripping out his vial organs, killing him violently, its claw-fingered hands dripping with blood. Olivia closed her eyes, grabbing her wrist and pulling her forward. But Jessicsa still watched.
It was a bloodbath. Aiden was alive though most of it, until it stabbed his heart before pulling it out violently. She couldn’t believe what she witnessed. She wished she never tried to stay back, or even noticed his body. She hated him, but she still felt horrible.
No one deserves their organs harvested out of their body like that, especially as violent. She wished she could have at least spared him that death. That horrible, bloody, painfully, heart wrenching death.
