The sun was almost fully setted, the moon shining bright, the sky being a pretty orange-yellow-purple color, the stars shining bright, being millions of them. The two didn’t really care at the moment. “So, much, damn, WALKING!!” Jesse groaned tiredly, leaning against a tree. “Oh quit your whining.” Axel added jokingly, but feeling the same way. “There’s a village over there. We can rest there.” Jesse pointed out.
“Jesse, I hate to bring it up, but you're one of the only three people cured, and you're not even fully cured. Not to mention what Ivy said, people will try and kill you for a close answer.”
“I’ll wear the cloak.” Jesse replied, having it cover his eyes mostly, but still able to see his brunette messy hair sticking out a bit. Axel shrugged. “Alright, just try not to say anything that can give it away.” Axel insisted. Jesse nodded.
A person was standing at a stand, checking off a list. “Hello, welcome to base 101-” She began, then saw who it was. She clicked her pen. “Aren’t you those two that checked in at the building competition? Where’s your friend?” She asked. Jesse immediately recognized her.
“Aren’t you that check-in lady at the building competition?” Jesse asked. “Yup. I work best as a check-in lady, so they put me here. Can’t have anyone suspicious here. What’s your purpose?” She asked. “Is it possible that we can stay here for a night? By the way, do you have any traders here?” Axel requested.
“We might. But you might also have to wait for tomorrow for some to come in.” The lady responded. “Two nights?” He asked. “Alright. Six emeralds?” She requested. “Six emeralds!? Fine, whatever.” Axel sighed, handing her six. “Thank you.” She replied. Axel and Jesse walked in. “Fucking scam. This better be fucking good.” Axel grumbled.
Axel noticed someone in what looked to be a trader’s cloak. “Hey, wait up!!” Axel yelled out, Jesse following. The trader turned around. “Yes?” They asked. “Do you have anything considered ‘rare’?” Axel asked, trying to keep his voice quiet. “Yes, why yes I do. Whatcha need?” He asked. Axel lowered his voice to a whisper. “Do you have Dragon’s Breath by chance?”
He nodded. “It’ll cost you Seventeen emeralds though.” He smirked. “Seventeen!?” Axel whispered-yelled. “That’s a fucking scam!” Axel complained quietly. “Take it or not?” He glared. “Fine.” Axel sighed, grabbing some. His eyes widened when he noticed. He only had eleven. “That bitch had the other six!” Axel whispered again, glaring at the lady.
“I can keep it in stock while you pay it off.” He assured him. “May you do that, please?” Axel requested. He nodded. “But if it’s past night two, it’s off.” He replied. “Deal.” Axel agreed. “Farewell then, update me tomorrow.” He glared. “Will do.” Axel nodded. As he walked away, Axel glared at the lady again.
“You good?” Jesse asked. “Yeah, just mad that bitch took the amount I needed.” Axel sighed. “I can help out, you know.” Jesse insisted. “You can, just be careful.” Axel added. Jesse nodded. At least he wasn’t super protective. Jesse understood Axel was just looking out for him, but it was still a little annoying.
