Lukas ran after Jesse, seeing him crying near one of the bedrooms. Lukas walked next to him, sitting down. “You good, Jess?” Lukas asked. “No...” Jesse admitted, crying. “I just found out that all the pain that was inflicted on me was from one of my friends, and no one told me!” Jesse muttered. Lukas frowned, comforting him.
“I’m sorry about that, Jess.” Lukas replied. He set his hand on Jesse’s. “But, Axel really cares about you. He probably thought he was helping.” Lukas pointed out. “I’m starting to think he doesn’t.” Jesse scoffed. “He does, I can assure you that he does.” Lukas answered. “Tell me then.” Jesse demanded.
Lukas understood his anger. Feeling like you were lied to. He didn’t try to say it wasn’t right to. He understood both sides. “He was the one that cured you.” Lukas added. “Yeah...” Jesse answered, starting to feel guilty.
“In those arguments between Axel and Olivia, Axel would always point out how Olivia was just plain up being cruel, trying to protect you. He felt really guilty after the situation back at the lab, continuously going on dangerous missions, coming out with a few scars and all.”
Jesse sighed, feeling bad.
“Jess, you have all the reason to be mad, but I’m just saying he does care about you. He really does. He’s proven it time and time again. He’s one of your closest friends, after all. You knew him before Olivia. He probably thought it was better for you not to know. Was it right? To me, no, but he was trying to help you.”
“I wish I wasn’t so harsh on him back there...” Jesse muttered. “We all do things we regret. Hell, I can name a million of things I regret. You can always attempt to apologize to him. Both of you probably should.” Lukas added. “Yeah... thanks, Lu.” Jesse smiled. “No problem.” Lukas grinned back.
