“Too much damn walking, I tell you!” Axel complained, following Jesse. “Agreed. But hey, we’re he-” Jesse replied, being interrupted by the thing ahead. “What’s wrong?” Axel asked, looking ahead, seeing what looked to be bodies. Jesse immediately ran towards them, Axel following.

Jesse froze in shock, crying. “Is that-” Axel questioned, bending down to see it closer. It was Petra. Majority of the skin around her mouth and jaw was gone, showing her teeth and flesh, having black tints on them, areas more noticeable than others. She looked to be rotting and decaying away.

On top of her, was Ellegaard, eyes shut, becoming pale. “The fuck happened while we were gone?” Axel asked, confused as ever. “I-I don’t know. I just worry if Lukas is okay. We don’t need more bodies, nor infected.” Jesse replied, stepping around the vines and bodies, Axel following along.

Maya had collapsed at one point, so Axel just dragged her. After getting through the maze, Jesse pressed the button.

“IS IT FINALLY YOU?”

“What do you mean finally?” Jesse asked, pissed.

“Other survivors have come. We have more of an answer, but we haven’t been able to do shit because you slowpokes weren’t quick enough.”

“You're welcome, I guess.” Jesse sighed. Axel pushed him aside. “We have Maya!” Axel answered in an annoyed tone.

“About time. I’ll open up a staircase so you can get down.”

“There was a staircase this whole time!?!” Jesse yelled quietly. A staircase opened behind them. “That asshole.” Axel grumbled. “Honestly, agreed.” Jesse replied, heading down with Axel.
