[A/N]
Hello!
It has been a while since the last time I updated this story. I don't know who's still here reading this, but I want you to know that I'm sorry I keep you waiting so long all the time.
This is part one of Shōto's birthday chapter, there will be a second one. I'm not here to say I'm gonna update the second part tomorrow or in a couple days, because I don't like empty promises.
I'm not sure when I will update the next part, just know that I will update.
That's a promise I can make.
I hope you enjoy this short chapter at least a tiny bit.If you're still here reading: thanks, it means a lot. 🥹
See you ❤️
With love,
Jane~
Chapter 54 - Birthday Boy
DAY 619
Unease settled into Izuku's stomach as Shōto's phone buzzed on the kitchen's countertop. It wasn't the first time it had buzzed, and it wasn't the noise itself to bother him; it was Shōto's expression every time he recieved a text or a call that bothered him. It had started the day after New Year day when they were tangled in bed, and with every passing day the number of times Shōto's phone buzzed had increased. The way Shōto had been ignoring every question Izuku had in regard the same way he stubbornly ignored his phone buzzing, had put Izuku on edge, the way he always changed the subject and found a way to distract him only added to his worries.
Their classmates had started to come back to the dorms in the past few days, and that gave Shōto another way out of answering his questions, because Izuku was everyone's friend so it was easy for Shōto to get him distracted with their company.
Shōto's phone buzzed once again on the kitchen countertop, and Izuku turned around just enough to watch Shōto frown at his own phone briefly before pressing the button to send the call to voicemail."Who was it?" - Izuku asked staring with a frown on his face.
"How long until it's ready?" - Shōto asked jumping off the kitchen's countertop completey ignoring his question as usual.
"I asked you something..." - he insisted watching as Shōto's gaze shifted to the pan as to avoid meeting his eyes.
"No one, I can help..." - he mumbled placing a warm hand on Izuku's hip.
"Shōto..." - Izuku sighed, thinking about how that conversation could only end in two ways: either he let it go and let Shōto keep ignoring the problem, or he would ask questions again and again until Shōto would get mad at his eccessive meddling.
"Your idea of cooking is putting cold water into instant ramen and warm it up with your quirk..." - he said turning back to stir the pan's content trying to avoid a fight at least for a few minutes, Shōto's hand quickly taking its place on the small of Izuku's back.
"I'm not that bad..." - Shōto whined and Izuku couldn't help but scoff as irritation quickly got the best of him.
"Why don't you tell me who's been calling you nonstop for the past few days?" - Izuku asked.
Shōto sighed and ignoring the question he placed his arms around Izuku's hips, resting his forehead against his shoulder.
"I'm hungry..." - he whispered brushing his nose against Izuku's neck before placing a kiss on his skin, enjoying the way his boyfriend shivered, sure that he had managed to distract Izuku enough for him to drop the conversation again.
