Chapter 24 - Lifeless

Day 291

3rd PERSON'S POV (No one POV)

He acted like an asshole and he knew it. He felt awful for how he had treated Shōto the previous night, but he had no other choice. Uraraka's glares terrified him, he couldn't stand to be judged by the girl who used to be his closest friend, the first one to make him feel welcomed at UA, his first true friend, his first love.
Was that even love?
Midoriya laid all night with her in his arms unable to sleep and with a sense of oppression over his chest. He was worried for him and it only worsened when Shōto didn't show up to class that morning. It became normal for Todoroki to skip classes but that morning his empty desk made Midoriya feel like he couldn't breathe properly, and he kept nervously glancing at the clock on the wall all morning.

"Yaomomo..." - he said shyly nearing the black-haired girl.

"Yes Midoriya?"

"Where's Shōto? How is he?" - he asked after checking for the hundredth time that Uraraka wasn't nearby.

"I walked him back to his room this morning before classes. He didn't look really good; he was exhausted and the moment he laid down he fell asleep. I don't think he got much sleep tonight." - she said with a heavy sigh at the end.

"Was it really bad?" - he asked worried. Miyako, who stood by Yayorouzu's side, stared at the boy intently. She couldn't understand what was keeping him away from Shōto, because it was clear as light that he cared for him. Yet he was destroying him.

"I don't know Midoriya, I never had to deal with anything like this before, but he was clearly on the edge yesterday. Don't worry though, he was much calmer this morning and I'm sure he only needed to sleep it over. He'll be back to class tomorrow." - she reassured the short boy with a smile.

Midoriya nodded and smiled at her though a horrible feeling still lingered in his heart as he watched the two girls walk away leaving him alone.
Though his loneliness didn't last long as a hand get a hold of his suddenly.
Midoriya smiled while looking at his girlfriend but found it the hardest thing he ever had to do. He didn't know what he was doing or how he felt anymore. His heart grew heavier and his feelings a lot messier as with every passing day holding Uraraka's hand gave him les pleasure and more pain.
Was he really satisfied?

BLOOD WARNING!

"Shōto? Are you awake?" - Midoriya asked knocking on his friend's door.

"Listen, I'm sorry for yesterday...I know you needed help and I feel awful for calling Yaomomo to help you instead of doing it myself..."

Midoriya was worried to say the least, he couldn't shake that horrible feeling hanging in his heart, no matter how much he kept telling himself that everything was okay. It was clearly not okay; he was a traitor; or at least that's how he felt for betraying his best friend trust.
Where they even friends anymore?
He kept asking himself that question but every time the answer was a short no. They weren't friends anymore.

"Sho I know you're in there...can we talk? Just for a moment? Can I come in?" - he tried getting Shōto's attention again.
He sighed when he still got no answer, knowing that if they were in that situation it was all his own fault.
