Chapter 15 - 'Empty shells'

Day 57

No matter how hard I tried to avoid it, Aizawa made sure I was standing next to him outside the school gate at 3.30PM sharp. And I thought he was on my side; he clearly didn't give a shit like everyone else.

"I thought I told you to cover that scar" - Endeavor said as soon as I closed the car's door.

"You're selling me to a random bitch and you expect me to lie as well. At least let her see the face she'll be stuck seeing everyday..."

The old man sighed but didn't say another word, he just drove us home where I had to change in something more suitable and wait for my life to crumble to pieces.

My old man was wearing something classic and elegant as I expected him to do, he seemed a kind and respectable man at first look, yet his eyes were the same I hated so much.

The Nishimura family showed up punctual and I swear that the moment the doorbell rung I could feel my heart sunk. I swear the doorbell's ring sounded like the bell of doom to me. The woman who stepped into my house introducing herself as Eiko Nishimura, had short black hair and blue piercing eyes, she looked like a female version of my father, while his husband Shoichi had kind green eyes hidden behind a pair of glasses and hash blond hair. I knew from the first moment I saw them that the one who agreed to this bullshit was Eiko.

"My younger son Shōto" - my old man said placing a hand on my shoulder as I fought the urge to shrug him off - "don't mind his attitude he's a shy young man"

Eiko nodded in acknowledgment and Shouchi smiled at me.

"Miyako, introduce yourself" - Eiko said taking a step to the side and revealing her daughter, a girl with long black silky hair tied in a braid.

I saw her shoulder move in a way that resembled a sigh as she took a step forward.

"I'm Nishimura Miyako, it's a pleasure to meet you." - she said with a little bow before meeting my glance.

Her eyes were the only thing I could focus on, they were of an emerald green like Izuku's yet they didn't hold any light or sparkle, they were dull.

I cut out most of the conversation Miyako's parents and my father had while drinking tea in our living room. She seemed to do the same and kept looking around the room as to pass time. I don't know what they talked about the whole time, I only knew that I had to go on a date with Miyako that weekend and that I was starting to spend too much time back home and not enough in the dorms.

Day 59

"It wasn't that bad I guess, almost like hanging out with a friend..." - Miyako said with a sigh as we got out of the restaurant.

I shrugged walking by her side in silence. I didn't know what she really expected of me but even if she thought it was a nice hang out, to me it was just awkward. We made small talks and she made the effort of filling most of the moments of silence. She was a really nice girl I'd said, but I had no interest in her no matter how hard I tried to force myself to like her.

I could see her driver by the car waiting on the other side of the road and I almost felt relieved that I could finally go home as our walk came to a stop.
