"That's an interesting tattoo." Dexter said, tilting his head and looking at the dragon on (M/N)'s back. "You like dragons?"
(M/N) kept his form steady and easy going. He didn't dare tense underneath the gaze, having been taught that many years ago. He looked at his dad, letting the delicious aroma calm him down.
(M/N) tilted his head over his shoulder to look at his tattoo, for the most part. Hard to see his entire back.
"Not particularly. They used to be cool to me."
"Then why the tattoo?" Dexter asked.
Suna licked the inside of his cheek, thumb tracing over the utensil in worry. It was known as to why (M/N) got the tattoo and it made him nervous to see what (M/N) would say. He couldn't believe his boyfriend was being so reckless and letting it show.
"Responsibility, I suppose." He said, taking a bite out of his food and closing his eyes.
It's been so long since someone had cooked for him, and even though this was unannounced, there was still a fresh meal. And it was delicious. He remembered this type of cooking, it was his mother's recipe. He opened his eyes and blinked the emotions away.
"I prefer foxes, anyways." (M/N) finally looked at Dexter.
Dexter couldn't help the smile. "Me too. Their mannerism is fascinating."
"Speaking of manners," Suna said, smacking the back of (M/N)'s head. "Go put on a shirt. We're eating."
(M/N) grumbled, but got up to go get a shirt. Dexter laughed, watching them fondly, eyes following (M/N) for a moment. There was something about him that was so familiar, and Dexter was going to figure it out before he left. Before they left.
Suna and Dexter didn't speak, letting the comfortable silence take over. Well, it was a bit awkward to Suna since he knew everything. But still. So, he was restless eating as Dexter watched with narrowed eyes, taking in every action.
They're a lot alike in that aspect, it's a bit scary.
Suna was relieved when (M/N) rejoined them with a shirt on, slipping in next to his lover. He held his hand under the table as he began to eat his food once more. He always thought about telling Dexter who he was, but then he'd back out when looking at Dexter.
He told himself it was because he couldn't ruin the life Dexter built around him, but really he was just scared. (M/N) hasn't been scared in years.
The conversation was to a minimum, all enjoying the food that was brought out to them. The food was delicious, really, but it was the aspect of it feeling like home that struck (M/N) so greatly. Made him miss his mom all over again and mourn the childhood he lost with his loving parents.
"I got it." (M/N) said, grabbing every dish that needed to be clean, taking a few trips.
Dexter smiled, "So helpful."
"I learned from the best." (M/N) responded, smiling and remembering it was his father who always cleaned the dishes.
Dexter tilted his head in regard, humming to himself and looking over (M/N). Mr.'Web' didn't allow anything to take over his features as he was as relaxed as could be. Nothing really to it but the need to help his father.
Wanting to leave a good impression on his father before he left. That's all that mattered, leave him with a good memory.
Suna watched (M/N), looking at him so lovingly. Just as usual. It was odd seeing (M/N) so domestic, despite him being the one to cook and clean for his crew and his Mafia. He was more blank and cold hearted.
