The Letter

Dick and Artemis take the Zeta-Tube to Star City.

"Thanks for telling me your secret," Artemis says as they walk to her house.

"No problem, it's actually nice to tell someone else about my childhood," Dick says.

"Do you want to come in?" Artemis asks as they arrive at the house.

"No, I have to make sure there aren't any fight rings," Dick says.

"Okay," Artemis says.

"You're home late, again," Grant says as Artemis comes in.

"It was the Team's annual memorial for Wally," Artemis says to her boyfriend.

"Why do you have to have one every year?"

"Because he sacrificed himself to save the planet," Artemis says.

"I know you were doing something else too, who is he?"

"Just a friend."

"Just a friend, huh? Get over here!"

Artemis runs to her room and locks the door.

In Bludhaven, Dick is thinking about his friend. He takes out a box of things Wally gave him and he goes through it. All of the sudden an envelope catches his attention.

"What's this?"

Dick opens it.

Dick, if anything happens to me make sure Artemis doesn't go after whoever she blames.

"Check," Dick says before he keeps reading.

Also, I give you my blessing in case the impossible happens, she needs someone to keep her level.

"What does he mean gives me his blessing in case the impossible happens, I may need a girl's help on this," Dick says.

Dick walks over to his portal and teleports to Happy Harbor to visit Connor and Megan.

"Nightwing, B-01," the Zeta-Tube calls out.

"Hey Dick," Connor says working on a bike.

"Hey Connor, is Megan around?"

"She's inside, go on ahead," Connor says.

"Megan?" Dick says walking into the house.

"In here Dick," Megan calls.

Dick walks into the kitchen.

"Working on some cookies?"

"It's a little helpful, especially because it was Wally's favorite," Megan says taking a tray out of the oven.

"Every food was Wally's favorite," Dick says.

"Kryptonians may be known as men of steel but Wally had a stomach of steel," Connor comes in.

"I sense you didn't come to reminisce about Wally," Megan says.

"No, but it is about Wally."

"Let's sit down," Connor says noticing Dick's non-mission worried face.

They sit at the kitchen table.

"What's that?" Megan asks noticing the letter in her friend's hand.

"It's a letter from Wally, I think he wrote it before he sacrificed himself, you know in case what happened happened," Dick says putting the letter on the table.

"What does it say?" Connor asks.

"It says he gives me his blessing in case the impossible happened, that Artemis needs someone to keep her level, why would he give me his blessing, and what does he mean by impossible?"

"You were his best friend, he trusted that you wouldn't take Artemis even after he passed without his approval," Megan says.

"So, he gives me his blessing if I want to date Artemis, if she wants to date me, or if we want to date each other."

"Exactly," Megan confirms.

"Tigress, B-07," the Zeta-Tube calls out.

"Connor, Megan?"

"In the kitchen Artemis!" Megan answers.

Artemis walks into the house.

"Dick?" Artemis is surprised.

"You find a letter too?"

Artemis holds up her letter.

"I came here because Grant and I had a fight before I could open it, it was a bad one, we have been having a lot of them lately," Artemis takes the last seat.

"Dick, why don't you come help me with my bike," Connor suggests when he sees the bag.
