Dick is in his office with Brucely laying on his dog bed across from Dick's desk.
"What do you think Brucely, will Artemis says yes?" Dick asks her dog.
Brucely walks over and puts his head on Dick's leg.
"Dick, you ready for dinner!" Artemis yells as she walks into the apartment with Dick quickly pocketing the box.
"Yeah, I'll call Garfield and when he gets here we can go," Dick says coming out of his office.
"I'm going to go change," Artemis says giving Dick a kiss.
"Beast-Boy, D-01," the Zeta-Tube calls.
"Thanks Gar," Dick says.
"No problem, you guys go and have a good date and she will say yes," Gar puts emphasis on will.
"I know," Dick says.
Dick's phone rings.
"What's up Tim?"
"So good news and bad news."
"Shit, I guess bad first," Dick sits down.
"The Shining Shrimp was just bought by Penguin this morning," Tim says.
"And the good news?"
"Bruce was able to get you the private room at The Italian Orchid, it's under your name," Tim replies.
"Okay, where is Bruce?"
"He is helping the League with Queen Bee, he said to listen to you," Tim says.
"Okay, how well do you think Ed would do going undercover?"
"Very well, I can have Courtney do a little make up so he can't be noticed and I can hack into the computer and add him to the list," Tim says.
"No," Dick says.
"What?"
"Tim, when you know the villain's real name you have to look at their lifestyle. In Penguin's case he is a billionaire, someone who is very classy, he has the money for a computer for reservations," Dick says.
"But he won't, because it's not the stereotype of classy, he would still use paper," Tim finishes.
"That's right, but he will seat someone who can get him on TV," Dick says.
"I'll call Courtney to go undercover, have Ed and Wendy as backup," Tim says.
"Good, Gar is watching Brucely and Mowgli, have Wendy take Mowgli, I'll have Freda hack into the security cameras so he can watch from the apartment, I'll have my phone on me and a comm in the car," Dick says.
"Keep you updated," Tim says.
"Thanks," Dick says before hanging up.
Garfield changes from a dog to human.
"Sorry, I should have asked before I assigned you to watch," Dick says.
"It's okay, even though the Outsiders are in the light you rank higher," Garfield says.
"You ready?" Artemis comes out.
Dick sighs and puts his phone away.
"Everything okay?" Artemis goes over to Dick.
"Yeah, Tim called saying the place I was going to take you was bought by Penguin, but luckily he got us a table someplace else, how you feel about Italian food tonight?"
"Sounds good," Artemis hugs him from the back.
"Have fun," Garfield says.
"Thanks," Dick says as they leave.
Dick drives to The Italian Orchid and they walk in.
"Welcome to The Italian Orchid, do you have a reservation?" The hostess asks.
"Yes, Dick Grayson party of 2," Dick says.
"Ah yes, right this way," she says grabbing two menus.
"You okay Babe?" Artemis asks noticing Dick is somewhat distracted.
"Yeah, I will be," Dick says.
"Here is your private room," the hostess says.
"Thank you," Artemis says.
They sit down. They have a normal conversation, when dessert is about to come he musters up the courage to start the real conversation.
"Random question, how do you feel about the bat family?" Dick asks
"I love your adopted family, I know that you, Tim, and Bruce will have my back and I want to give Damian a mother figure who is always there to help you guys guide him, I mean I know what it's like to have an absent mother," Artemis answers.
Dick lifts his eyebrow.
"I mean I know he knows his mom but it feels like he is more like Bruce than her so if he has a good female influence then it will help him be a good man," Artemis clarifies.
"Good to know, so you would be willing to join the family?" Dick asks as the dessert is set on the table.
"Of course," Artemis says as she digs into her Gelato.
Dick takes a deep breath before standing up.
"You good?"
Dick takes the box out of his pocket and gets on one knee.
"Artemis Crock, will you marry me?"
"God yes, we will be like Dinah and Oliver," Artemis smiles before kissing him.
"I was gonna say Connor and Megan, but yeah," Dick says.
