"Merry Christmas Dick," Freda says as his alarm goes off.
"Merry Christmas Freda," Dick says getting up.
"Merry Christmas," Artemis says smiling as Dick comes out of his room.
"I see that Brucely saw his present from Santa," Dick says as he sees the dog gnaw on the bone.
Artemis' smile goes to annoyance.
"Sorry, Merry Christmas," Dick says giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Much better, and yes, I was going to wait to give it to him but he was waiting so patiently and it was too cute that I couldn't help myself."
"Well I guess he is the kid on Christmas out of the three of us," Dick says as Brucely comes over for a pet.
"That's for sure," Artemis says as he turns to her for a pet.
"Do you want to wait till we get back from Star City to open presents?" Dick asks.
"How about we take one of them with?" Artemis picks up a present.
Dick walks over and grabs one also.
"Oh by the way, I want to tell my family first, so I guess that will be today," Artemis says.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive, are you ready?" Artemis asks.
"Let's go," Dick says after a deep breath.
"Come on Brucely," Artemis says to the dog.
Brucely gets up and runs to Artemis so she can put the leash on him.
"Tigress, B-07, Nightwing, B-01, Brucely, C-03," the Zeta-Tube reads as they walk into the portal and arrive in a telephone booth three blocks from the house.
"I'm kind of nervous," Dick says as they walk.
"Why? My family likes you, well the good members of my family," Artemis says excluding her father.
"But will they like me like they liked Wally, I'm not really the laid back type like he was," Dick says.
Artemis stops in her tracks.
"What's wrong?" Dick asks also stopping.
Artemis smiles, turns so they are face to face, closes her eyes, and kisses him on the lips. It only lasts a few seconds but it makes both of them feel like they are walking on a cloud.
"What was that for?"
"To see something and I was right to choose you, did you feel it too?"
"I definitely did," Dick smiles initiating another lip lock.
"Then that's all that matters, my mom wants me to be with someone that makes me happy, and that person is you, okay?" Artemis asks as she goes back to standing beside him.
"Okay," Dick says as he laces his fingers through Artemis'.
They walk up the steps and ring the doorbell.
"Dick, Sis, glad you guys came," Jade answers the door.
"I'm free to do what I want now, my boyfriend is okay with me seeing you guys, seeing everyone," Artemis says as they walk in.
"Aunt Artemis," Lian runs up to her.
Dick takes the present from Artemis so she can pick up her niece.
"You can just put them under the tree Dick," Paula says wheeling in.
"Okay," Dick says walking over to the tree in the corner of the front room.
"Mr. Dick, thank you for saving Aunt Artemis," Lian walks over.
"It's what I do," Dick kneels down and hugs her.
The gesture makes Artemis smile and realize that Wally knew what she needed after he left.
"Dick, maybe we should tell Will about the info Connor told us," Artemis says.
"Good idea, but are you sure now is the right time?"
"Do you really want another incident like the one on New Year's Eve?" Artemis asks carefully bringing up Darkseid.
"Fine," Dick says.
"We'll be back," Will says.
"But it's Christmas," Paula says.
"I know, but I know what Artemis is referring to and if we don't talk every superhero could be in danger," Will says.
"Okay, just be back before 10," Paula agrees.
"We will," Will says looking at the clock.
"We won't be long," Dick says.
"Let's go," Artemis says.
The three heroes walk to the Vault and Will activates the computer.
"Okay, so we possibly have another CADMUS project we have to deal with, one that has the powers of Parasite," Dick says bringing up Parasite's file.
"You mean that psycho who was using Haly's Circus to steal equipment for a black hole machine?"
"Exactly that one, he has a daughter that we didn't know about and we hired her to be my personal assistant and she was there when I said my credentials and other things that can be used against us," Artemis says as Dick hacks into the Wayne Industries network and pulls up Makayla's file.
"So keep my eye out, got it," Will says.
"We better get back, my mom may be paralyzed but you can do a lot when sitting down," Artemis says.
