Understanding

"Batman, 02, Robin, D-12," the Zeta-Tube calls after 10 minutes.

"Bruce, what are you doing here?"

"Tim told me what happened, and we need to talk," Bruce says.

"What did he tell you?"

"He told me that you are wanting vengeance."

"I don't want vengeance, I just want get back at Luthor," Dick says looking at documents.

Artemis stops what she's doing and walks over to Bruce and Tim.

"Artemis get back over here!" Dick yells.

She doesn't go anywhere near him but turns around and runs into her room.

"I'll go check on her," Tim says before turning around.

"I'll talk to Dick," Bruce says.

Tim knocks on the door when it doesn't open automatically.

"Artemis, it's me," Tim says.

"Freda, open door," Artemis says.

The door opens and Tim walks in.

Tim sees Artemis crying on her bed, something she rarely does, even behind closed doors.

"You know he won't hurt you," Tim says sitting in a chair.

"I know, it's him yelling at me that scared me, my ex would yell at me for doing what I'm supposed to do," Artemis sniffles.

"It isn't because of what you're doing either, it's because of the memorial. I saw his face when the accident happened, he was devastated," Tim says.

"So, you're saying that seeing the memorial destroyed is like reliving that night," Artemis says wiping her nose with a tissue.

"Exactly, he is just hurt and until his shoulder is healed he can't use the gym which is how he usually takes out his negative emotions," Tim explains.

There is another knock on the door.

"It's me," Dick's voice comes from the other side.

"Go away," Artemis says.

"Please, I'm calm now," Dick sighs.

"Fine, Freda open door," Artemis says.

The door opens and Dick walks in with remorse plastered on his face.

"He pulled the Todd card and left didn't he?" Tim asks.

"He had to, because you guys were right, I was wanting revenge," Dick says.

"Was?" Artemis asks.

"I don't want to get back at Firefly or whoever hired him, and we can rebuild the memorial, it was in the early stages anyway. Plus the tent should have been taken down long ago," Dick sits next to Artemis.

"I've got to go, I'll see you guys later," Tim says leaving the room.

"I want to apologize, I shouldn't have yelled at you for not doing anything. I know that you ran because I was yelling at you like Grant used to," Dick says taking her hand.

"And Tim explained to me why this makes you act like," Artemis pauses not sure how to finish the sentence.

"Not myself, like a complete jerk, an asshole, take your pick," Dick says in his thirteen year old personality.

Artemis laughs.

"One of those," Artemis responds.

"Bruce said he will do the digging, I need to focus on getting better."

"Glad you finally realized that," Artemis says kissing his cheek.
