Onalerona's POV
"You want to pay for her chemo?" I ask and he nods. "Why though its not your responsibility?" "I know its not but i want to help you. I know chemo is expensive and it will take months to save up for the treatment and who knows what could happen during those months so i want to make life easier for you." says Nkosikhona.
"I...i don't know what to say." "Say yes. I don't like the fact that you stressing about this, you already have enough on your plate." he says and i sigh. "Are you sure you want to pay for her chemo?" I mean i could use with some help money wise and his right when he says it could take months to save up for the money but i want to be sure that he means what he says.
"Yes. I know how much your grandmother means to you so i want to help her." he answers. "Okay then fine." I whisper. "Speak up Onalerona i can't hear you." I fight the urge to smile. "Yeah fine i accept your help." he smiles and pulls me in for a hug. "She will be okay don't worry. We going to find her the best doctor and make sure she gets the best treatment."
I try to blink away the tears that want to come out but i fail. I've been crying a lot this weekend. "Thank you so much you don't know how much this means to me." I say and he kisses my forehead. "Don't worry I'll always be there for you and if i can help out wherever i can then i will. You don't have to struggle ngikhona." (while i'm there.)
"Thank you." I say and wipe my tears. He places his finger under my chin and forces me to look at him. "You don't have to thank me." he says. "I do this is a lot." he chuckles. He pecks my lips multiple times causing me to giggle. "Lets finish making breakfast I'm hungry." he laughs.
"I'm taking you to a spa." he says. "Next week?" I ask and he chuckles. "I don't need a week to plan things, we going today." "Why you taking me to a spa?" "Because you deserve a break. You've been working non stop and i know you stressing about everything so this is the time to distress."
I smile. "What did i do to deserve you?" I ask. "I am the one that's supposed to say that. " he says and we chuckle. "I could do with a spa date my body is tense." "Then we going to leave at around 12." I nod. "Can i ask you something?" "Go ahead." "How rich is your family?"
I've always been curious about his family's wealth. They live in a lavish neighbourhood and their house is amazing and thats me putting it lightly and the fact that he is willing to pay for my grandmother's chemo knowing very well its expensive. "We are billionaires." he answers.
My eyes widen in shock. His mother did mention that when i got the job but i didn't think she was serious. "What do your parents do for a living?" I ask. Shoot me for being nosy but i want to know the details seeing as though i am dating him. He steals a glance at me and flips the pancakes.
"Why do you want to know?" he asks. "I'm just curious seeing as though we are dating." I answer. "They have their own fashion house which is one of the most successful in Africa and they have boutiques all over southern Africa. They also have their own hospitals and clinics across the country." "That's it?" "Yeah why?"
"They must have worked really hard to get to this point." I say and he hums in agreement. "They did work hard." he says. "Why do you guys live together?" "Safety purposes." What's up with him and giving me safety purposes as an answer. "From what?" "Success and fame come with danger."
"That's the exact same thing your mom said." I say and he steals a glance at me. "Then why are you asking me again if you know the answer?" he asks. "Because i want to know and seeing as though you my boyfriend i can ask you right." "I don't want to delve deep into my family history and secret behind wealth."
