Onalerona's POV
I can't believe that my first date is in a hot air balloon. He wasn't joking when he said he will go all out and make sure that our first date is a memorable one which i truly appreciate. The instructor leads us to the balloon and we get inside. "Are you guys ready?" he asks and we nod.
He lights up the balloon and up we go in the air. The view of the city is amazing. Johannesburg is a beautiful city thats for sure. "The view is amazing." I say and he smiles. "It really is sthandwa sami." says Nkosikhona. (my love.) I take out the buffalo wings from the basket and we snack on them.
"How long will we be in the air for?" I ask. "An hour maximum." he answers and i nod. "Thank you for this i truly appreciate it." "Its my pleasure and you deserve the best." I giggle. "So we have to go through the getting to know each other phase again." we chuckle. "Yes, we have changed over these last few years."
"Yeah you much more nicer now i don't know why." I say and he rolls his eyes causing me to chuckle. "Are you trying to say i was never nice back then." he asks. "Yeah you were rude by now you would have gotten into it with some stranger." "I wasn't that bad." "That time you got into a fight with the man who bumped me with his trolley."
He rolls his eyes. "He hurt you and i wasn't going to let him get away with it." he says. "Don't try to justify your nasty behaviour, you were not supposed to insult that man the way you did and now i was left doing damage control over the situation." I say. "Okay maybe i was a bit mean." "A bit?" we chuckle.
"Okay i was a dick." he answers. "And you still are one but we can work on that." I say. "You no longer tell me stories like you used to back then." "I worked as a waitress which means i saw drama daily. I could pay attention to people's problems back then but now it ain't the same." he chuckles. "But then i miss those stories especially that one with the cheating husband."
We laugh. "But that girl was savage now i know how to react when i catch you cheating." I say and he laughs. "So you going to cause a scene in front of everyone and then set the table that i'm eating at on fire." he says and i nod. "But it depends where i catch you cheating." "Worry not because i won't hurt you like that."
"I hope so too because once you cheat i will leave you. This excuse that all men cheat is bullshit because it doesn't say that in the bible." I say. "So you building a relationship with God?" he asks and i smile. "Yes i am and its one of the best decisions i have made." He nods. "I hope you won't try to change my beliefs to suit you."
"I will never do that." he says. "I also want you to give God a chance it will be the best thing you have ever done." I say. "Don't pressurize me." "I'm not trying to do that Nkosikhona; you building a relationship with Him has to be something that comes from within. Just give God a chance one day and you will see how much your life will change."
"God wouldn't love a sinner like me." he says and i chuckle. "If He didn't love you then He wouldn't have sent His son to come and die for our sins so we can be saved. He sent His son so we can be able to build a relationship with Him and experience His unconditional love. The gap that separated God from His children is gone." I say.
"The way you preaching right now.." "Is it making you uncomfortable?" I ask. "No i can see the way your eyes light up when you talk about him which is a beautiful thing i guess." I smile. "I think i'll leave this conversation here i don't want to overwhelm you. But just know i accept you as you are." he nods.
