AMYRAH.

I was looking at my dupatta which was hand sewed by aunty. It is now making me emotional. How much effort she might've put into it and how much time it might have taken her. I never thought I would deserve something like this ever in my life.

Tomorrow is finally the day, and I am both nervous and excited. It's been 4 days since Aaban and I haven't seen each other. A few days ago aunty came here with her bag and ordered Aaban to go and that he could only meet me on the wedding day.

He really threw a tantrum and bickered with her for straight an hour and it was the sight to witness. He acted like a grumpy child whose toy is getting snatched. He even tried to blackmail her, but she didn't fade for a second.

After all the drama aunty literally threw him out of the door but he didn't even stop there and it still is fresh in my mind.

"Apne cheezein le lo." (Take your things). She threw his bag and was about to shut the door but his voice stopped her.

"Mein in kapdon ka kia karun, mujhe apni qeemti cheez mere saat chaiye." (What should I do with these clothes? I want my valuable thing with me). He whined like a kid and I really want to record it.

"Kis qeemti cheez ki baat kar rahe ho?" (What precious thing are you talking about?). She asked with annoyance as he was really getting on her nerves now.

"Vo." (That). He pointed towards me and my entire body started heating. What the hell was that? What is this guy? He is telling all of this in front of aunty!! This shameless creature won't change.

Aunty looked at me then back at him with a chuckle. "Unavailable. Ab jao." (Now go). She said in a dismissive tone.

"Aap pakka Hitler ya Genghis Khan ke nasal se ho, masoom logon par tashad'ud karti rehti hein." (You are for sure from the generation of Hitler or Genghis Khan torturing innocent people). He muttered with narrowed eyes.

"Jao jao shoo." (Go go). She waved her hand and I was trying hard to stifle my laughs.

"Mark my words Mrs Shah, you will pay for it." He warned her but not like a real warning. It looked animated.

"Tum ja rahe ho ya mein apne shauhar ko phone kar ke kahun ke tumhe yaha se ghaseet kar le jaein?" (Are you going or should I call my husband to drag you out of here?).

"Aap aisi pathar Dil ho na." (You are such a stone hearted). He was mumbling bitterly while picking up the bags. "Shauhar aur biwi ko ek dusre se juda karna kabeera gunnah hai." (Separating husband and wife from each other is a great sin).

"Maa ki nafarmani karna iss se bhi bada gunah hai." (Disobedience to the mother is an even greater sin). She retorted back and it made me chuckle.

"Tum kyun has rahi ho." (why are you laughing?). He snapped at me and was even saying something but aunty closed the door on his face. We heard him groaning.

It was indeed a core memory for me and it still makes me smile. It was late at night but I was wide awake with my thoughts swirling about tomorrow. Well, basically today as 12 passed a long time ago.
