AUTHOR'S POV.

"Allah hu Akbar
Allah hu Akbar
La ilaha illa Allah."

The voice of the azan echoed throughout the country inviting the believers in the path of the peace. To bow the heads and ask him for the impossibles. The group of men were settled in the masjid as the Imam started performing his duty.

He was done with the ablution whereas she went to the washroom to perform it. He walked in the corner and stood behind the Imam and on the other hand she was done purifying herself.

As his nose touched the ground, she started praying while covering herself. Tears were brimming in both of their eyes but none of them blinked it away. Their hearts were beating wildly as it was trying to get free from its cage.

"Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatu Allah." He was done but was seated in his place doing Astagfar. She offered too and as she raised her hands, he went in prostration. "Ya rab." They whispered. Voice shaking, heart beating rapidly and the breaths getting heavy.

"Allah I'm taking a step in my new life please be it like a beautiful dream and not a nightmare. Please make this easy for me and guide me at every step of my life. Ya rab I'm leaving my everything in your protection please don't turn me empty handed." The girl prayed for her upcoming future.

Whereas on the other side his heart kept taking her name. "Allah, meri pari." (Allah, my pari (angel)). With tears in his eyes and body trembling he was chanting the same thing in the state of prostration.

"Allah." She whispered. Her heart was drumming in her chest. "I tried to forget about him and maybe I did at some point but what are these strange feelings that enveloping me? Why is my mind roaming back to him and why do I feel suffocated remembering him? I don't know Allah, I don't know what's happening." One after the other drop by drop tears started rolling down from her cheeks straight on her curled up palms.

"Allah. Meri pari ko mujh se na chene." (Allah. Don't snatch my pari from me). His heart wasn't at peace. It was the same condition from the past year and more. He had the same restlessness which wasn't getting faded by time.

"Allah, mere zehen se unhe nikal dein." (Allah, remove his thoughts from my mind). She whispered with a heart of stone but just for him or maybe it is what she felt right at the moment.

"Allah usse mere naseeb mein likh dein." (Allah, please write her in my fate). He begged in front of his lord with just one emotion and that was pain.

"Allah mein kisi aur ki hone ja rahi hun phir kyun mujhe vo yaad aa rahe hein?" (Allah, I'm going to be someone's today then why am I remembering him?). Her mind was clueless but her heart wasn't but she wasn't ready to acknowledge it. It was terrifying.

"Maine shayad kabhi kuch nahi maanga hein iss zindagi mein lekin ab tuj se bheek mang raha hun mujhe meri pari de dein. Uska dil meri taraf mod dein. Usse mere liye muqarrar kar dein. Wada karta hun aap se kabhi kisi cheez ki ilteja nahi karunga, kabhi na shukar nahi hounga. Bas meri pari mujhe de dein." His body vibrates with his painful sobs.

(I might've never asked for anything before but I'm begging now to give me my pari back. Turn her heart to me. I'm promising you I'll never ask for anything, I'll never be ungrateful but please give me my pari back).
