After parking the car I rounded it and took her in my arms and started walking inside the house. Baba and Ammi were sitting in the living room talking about something. But as they looked at me they stood up and came towards me."Aaban what happened?"
"What's wrong?"
They were really worried, looking at her state. "Shall I come in a minute." I asked in a whisper looking at Amyrah. The bruise on her jaw was getting in deeper colour making my heart clench.
"Yes, bete go." Abbu patted my back and I walked up towards my room. Entering inside I carefully placed her on the bed and covered her with the duvet. Sitting on my knees beside the bed I tucked her hair behind and caressed her cheek with my knuckles.
"Don't worry love. You are in your home now." I whispered and softly kissed the side of her head and stood up.
Dimming the lights I exited the room. Descending the stairs I walked towards my parents and sat opposite to them on the couch. Alhamdulillah I am blessed with everything especially with my parents.
"Baba Ammi I have something to tell you." I was finally letting out the things which were hidden for so long. I never wanted to keep them in the dark.
"Haan bete kia baat hai?" (Yes, son, what's up?) Baba was calm and composed like every time making it easy for me to say everything.
"Aaban you are scaring me tell us already." Ammi was as usual concerned. I smiled looking at her and she visibly calmed a little.
"Me and Amyrah already got married on Feb 5th of last year." As I said Ammi gasped keeping her palm on her mouth. "It might be my fault but not Amyrah's. She was forced into it so please don't hold any grudges with her."
"What are you talking about Aaban?" I don't know how Baba would be so calm even in the rarest of moments.
"It happened when we..." I started telling them about everything in detail. How they were forcefully trying to marry my Amyrah to that bastard and what all happened. I just excluded how I wanted to tell everything but she was scared.
I can completely take the blame upon myself then letting them think bad of my wife. I even told them about how she got caught with her family and how I had to take her proposal in haste.
"We thought of telling you guys but everything happened so fast that I did what I thought was right. I'm sorry it was my fault."
Ammi was holding her head in her hands and Baba. He is smiling? What the hell he is literally smiling. "Mera beta bada ho gaya." (My son grew up). Ammi snapped her head in his direction and slapped his arm.
"Aap iss sab se khush hein?" (You are happy with all of it). She was glaring at him and I was stifling my laughs looking at them.
"Kia farq hai Bahu toh wahi hai. Kisi dusri ya teesri ku thodi laya." (What is the difference, the daughter-in-law is the same, he didn't bring any second or third). As he said I couldn't stop my laugh.
Ammi was glaring at both of us with her signature murderous looks. "Sharam kar lein." (be ashamed). She threw the pillow on me and with another smacked Baba. "Mera Sher Jawan ho raha hai." (My lion is getting young).
Baba leaned back on the couch resting his hand on the arm rest. "Ya Allah." Ammi was massaging her temples looking at him. "Chodo begum, shaadi ho gayi ab mere paise bach jaayein ge." (Leave it wife, they got married now my money will be saved). He said the last part to himself and chuckled.
Lord I love this guy. "Aap yaha so rahe ho." (You are sleeping here). She leaned back too folding her hands and looking at me with a glare. I tried to smile at her but she threw another pillow at me. I caught it again and kept it behind me for the support.
