AABAN.

Slowly I massaged my temples as my head was aching way too much. The work kept on piling as I neglected it for my own reasons. I readjusted myself and leaned back on my chair to relax for a while. As I closed my eyes the faces of my wife and my son surrounded me and it brought peace to my heart.

Ahsan is now 5 months old and I have no idea how time keeps ticking. Lately he is the one ruling all of our hearts. That little human has the ability to make us dance on his tiny fingers. He got more chubbier and when Amyrah takes him I couldn't contain my laughter.

That little one is getting too big for my wife to pick him up easily. In no time he will be taller than his mother. As already he is wearing the clothes which are meant for a year and half old. That cute squishy ball is so irresistible.

I shook my head with a smile cause if I keep thinking about my family then I won't be able to complete any work. Resuming back with my work I didn't know when it was midnight. Immediately packing up my things I increased my pace and in no time I was in my car speeding up to my home.

Parking the car in the garage I  climbed out of it. Baba and Maama are out of the country to meet, bade chachu and Chachi. I entered through the main hall and straight away walked up the stairs to my room. As I neared it I heard the cries of my baby. Without wasting a single second I got inside and looking at the view in front of me made my heart twist in pain.

Amyrah was pacing around while sobbing herself with crying Ahsan in her arms. "Amyrah?" I called her softly placing my bag on the couch. She looked at me and a new set of fresh tears rolled down her eyes.

"Kya hua hein?" (What happened?). I stepped closer taking Ahsan in my arms. She turned around and was about to walk away but I held her wrist and pulled her to my other side, hugging her. She clung onto me and was crying.

"Shh mein aa gaya hun na ab rona band karo." (Shh, I'm here now stop crying). I patted her head. Ahsan was quiet with his face in the crook of my neck. Her body was shaking due to her cries. "Idhar aao baitho." (Come here, sit). I took her towards the bed and made her sit on it with Ahsan still in my embrace.

"Kya hua hein?" (What's wrong?). I asked. She looked at me then at Ahsan with teary eyes.

"Mujhe nahi pata. Vo lagatar ek ghante se ro raha hein." (I don't know. He was crying from the past hour). She hiccupped.

"Aap kyun ro rahi thi?" (Why were you crying?). Softly I tucked her hair behind her ear and caressed her cheek. She looked down.

"Mujhe kuch samjh mein nahi aa raha tha. Yeh sambhal hi nahi raha tha aur mujhe bhi rona aa gaya yeh sonchke ke vo kuch takleef mein hai aur mai kuch nahi kar rahi thi." She looked like a child saying it. I patted her head and kissed her forehead lovingly.
(I couldn't understand anything. He wasn't calming down and looking at him made me cry thinking he might be in pain I couldn't do anything).

She was looking at me with those innocent filled eyes of hers. Carefully I placed Ahsan in his cot and patted him to sleep. I looked at Amyrah and she looked extremely exhausted. "Amyrah." She glanced at me and I forwarded my hand in her direction.

She slowly came to me and sat in front of me. "It's okay. He is asleep now." I held her face in my palms and pecked her forehead. "Aaban." She whispered and her eyes were tearing up again. "Jee bolein." (yes).
