After giving the food to the kitten we made our way out of the room descending down the stairs. The palace was decorated so beautifully and it looked so lively with everyone present here.We walked in the living area where the elders were present drinking their tea while laughing and chatting about something. I couldn't hold back my smile looking at everyone.
We went straight to Baba and greeted him first. "Masha Allah." He whispered with a smile keeping his hand on our heads. Then we moved to Maama and she hugged both of us with a never ending smile on her face.
After meeting and greeting all the elders and interacting a little with everyone maama told us to go and eat and that the youngsters are already present there waiting for us. I looked at Aaban who was looking so calm and happy with peaceful expressions spread across his face.
He might have noticed my gaze and looked at me. He smiled, his addictive smile and winked at me making my cheeks burn. He is such a flirt. We finally reached the dining room and saw all his cousins on the table debating about something.
"Ohh my love birds." Inaya di was the first who noticed us. Aaban pulled out a chair for me and we received a hooting from them. I'm gonna die out of shyness today. Aaban was so casual about everything.
"Kia baat hai gentleman." One of his male cousins commented which made others laugh. Aaban didn't even look at him and served our plates.
"So, Amyrah aap ko pata hai kal raat Aaban ki kya halat thi aap ke pass aane se phele." (Sister in law do you know what Aaban's condition was yesterday before coming to you). Hina di asked from across the table with a grin on her face and everyone started chuckling.
I looked at Aaban who rolled his eyes and took a bite. I shook my head at Hina di and they giggled with teasing eyes. What happened yesterday?
"Un ko chodo aur phele khao." (Leave them and eat first). Aaban signed with his eyes on my plate. I looked back at everyone who was laughing silently. Ignoring them I took a bite.
"Arey yaar bhabhi ne rasam nahi ki." (Oh no sister-in-law didn't perform the ritual). This time shagufta said, well yelled in excitement gaining everyone's attention.
"Rasam?" (Ritual). I looked at Shagufta. She nodded excitedly.
"Hamare khandaan mein ek rasam hai ke newly wed ek dusre ko khana khilate hein." (There is a ritual in our family that newlyweds should feed each other). As she said my eyes widened.
I glanced at Aaban and he looked confused by their demand. He looked at everyone then back at me and nodded. No way I can do that.
"Haan. Isse ek dusre ke darmiyaan mazeed muhabbat badhein gi." (Yes it will increase more love between each other). Hina di commented with a grin on her face.
I can feed him but not in front of everyone. All their attention was on us. I looked at Aaban silently telling him to help but as I looked at him I knew he wouldn't do it. He was literally smirking. Kaha phas gai mein.
"Chalein jaldi." (C'mon fast). Shagufta was so desperate.
"Kya ho raha hai yaha?" (what is happening here?). Maama's voice made everyone's attention to her.
"Tayi ammi vo ek dusre ko khilane ki rasam chal rahi hai." (Aunt, there is a ritual going on of feeding each other). Shagufta said with a wink and a grin on her face.
Maama chuckled at that shaking her head while looking at me. I was pleading, her with my eyes and she laughed. Okay no one is on my side today. She walked back telling us to finish everything and if anyone wanted anything else then to say it freely.
