NarratorThe day was gray, rain was falling from the sky, and the closed gates to a grave site was being stared down by a figure dressed in all black.
Deep breaths could be heard being taken the closer you got.
"You'll get sick this way," A low voice said as they placed a back umbrella over the figure dressed in black.
- Minji POV -
I took a deep breath and was about to take the umbrella from the guard who had stepped up to care for me...
When my heart suddenly dropped.
"Oh my god, you're here!" I didn't hesitate to jump into Y/n's arms.
Y/n held me tightly with one arm as she held the umbrella over us.
"Of course, I'm here. Why didn't you tell me?" Y/n's voice sounded a bit hoarse.
I took a painfully long breath and pulled away from Y/n's embrace.
I hadn't told Y/n about my mother passing away. I hadn't even told her about my father's passing a few months prior.
"Why didn't you tell me about your father either?" Y/n reached her hand up to caress my cheek.
"I didn't... want you worrying about me...," I exhaled with a heavy heart.
"You're silly. I'm always worried about you," Y/n lifted my chin to look into my eyes.
"Is that why you were acting so weird last time I was here?" She ran her thumb underneath my tired eyes.
I was too emotionally exhausted to answer with words. So, I just nodded my head.
"Come here," Y/n suddenly pulled me into her arms and held me tightly.
- Y/N POV -
I hadn't found out about The SamSam Group's Chairman's passing until I got back to the States. It seemed like the initial news were suppressed until the PR Team had an official announcement.
It wasn't until about a bit later, after Minji called in the middle of the night, that I found out about the mourning ceremony.
Minji didn't mention anything about her father's passing to me. I had to find out all about it through the news and calls I made to Professor Mo.
"Are you ready to go?" I asked Minji for the third time.
We had been standing in the rain for hours.
I didn't take Minji to be the emotional type. Which she wasn't ... she wasn't crying or anything... she was just blankly staring at the grave gates in front of us.
"Not yet," Minji squeezed me tighter.
I took a deep breath and held her as close as I could.
The very little light that had been out throughout the day had faded. The bodyguards surrounding the grave site had doubled...
And Minji didn't seem to have any intention of leaving the side of her parents' final resting place.
I felt really bad for acting like such a brat the last time Minji and I had seen each other. In hindsight, I could see why Minji was being overly protective and acting very sensitive.
