I paced around in my room for a while after that.

I could hear the soft mumbles of Sodapop and Darry talking in the kitchen.

I couldn't make out what they were saying, even when I pressed my ear to the door.

I wad so anxious about everything, I felt like I was going to puke.

I thought about sneaking out the window, and maybe going to the lot for a while to calm down.

But, I knew if Darry found out I left, it would only make things worse.

"Hey, I heard about Ponyboy and Johnny. I got here as soon as I could." To my surprise, that was Twobit on the other side of the door.

I ran too my door, and opened it.

"I caught Dallas leaving the police station.  I sort of got it out of his that those two were heading to Texas, I think I'm gonna head there to look for them." Twobit scratched the back of his head nervously, as he leaned up against the door frame.

Oh no.

But they weren't in Texas.

Is that what Dal told the cops too?

"Texas?... wait... is Dallas here?" I quickly asked.

"Yeah, he's in the kitchen talking to Darry." Two-bit replied.

OH FUCK.

"Oh, shit!" I quickly pushed past Twobit, and made my way out there.

And to my surprise, Darry and Dallas hadn't killed each other... yet.

They stood on opposite sides of the table, both as tense as they could be.

They didn't even bat an eye, as I approached them.

I don't think they even knew that I came out of my room.

"Why did you tell Twobit they were in Texas?" I crossed my arms over my chest, as I stood next to Dallas.

They both looked in my direction.

"Calm down, sweetheart." Dallas smiled at me, as he spoke in an almost joking voice.

Wrong thing to say to me right now.

I was already fired up to begin with.

"Don't tell me to calm down, Mr. Winston." I told him sternly.

Soda, who was standing in the kitchen, let out a little chuckle.

"So they aren't in Texas?" Twobit asked.

"No, but Dallas knows where they are.  He just won't tell us." Darry let out a long sigh.

"I bet she knows too, well... being 'asleep' and all." Soda joked sarcastically.

Darry shot Soda a glare.

Now Twobit on the other hard, looked confused at first.

Once everything clicked together in his mind, his eyes sparked.

"No. Fucking. Way!" Twobit was laughing so hard, he nearly fell over.

"Shut up." I groaned, as I ran my hand  over my face.

God, this was embarrassing.

Having to so this over, and over again.

"What can I say?" Dallas winked, as he shrugged his shoulders.
