CHAPTER 27- COMPETITION II

BELLA'S POV:

"Are you guys ready?" I questioned nervously and took a sip of the soda. "We will do great, sweetheart," Laura put her hand on my shoulder and squeezed gently. Trying to breathe calmly, I heard Zack saying " We have an hour more guys. Let's go!"

I stood up, brushed off the dress, and looked at myself. I fixed my hair and added more lipstick. Satisfied with the outcome and our appearance, we all left the room. I stepped out of the room and noticed Rose was standing there. Sensing a presence, her eyes stared up at me. I froze, unable to move, and held my breath in. Rose looked mesmerizing with her white suit on. The blazer and tuxedo pants hugged her body perfectly giving me an amazing view of her body. I bit my lips trying not to drool. She was wearing high heels along with it which made her even more taller than me and flexed her leg muscles. Mind you I'm wearing high heels too but Rose is few inches taller than me. I can admire her all day long and it still won't be enough. Rose is so attractive and she was shining like a diamond in white clothings.

ROSE'S SUIT:

Laura cleared her throat, putting a stop to  us gawking at each other. I suppressed my smile trying to avoid all of my friend's teasing gaze.

ROSE'S POV:

Bella looked stunning and I think I made it obvious by gawking and drooling at her. I had to take a  few deep breaths before I lost my composure completely. Bella was wearing a tight bodycon dress and it was glittery, The dress hugged her petite curves perfectly giving everyone a show of her sexiness. I avoided my jealousy and heard Laura clearing her throat. My bad for gawking at Bella. I can't even blame myself because she looked like an angel especially with the tresses of golden brown hair complementing her white dress. Her piercing blue eyes seemingly captivated me. "We have to go now," I heard Mr. Smith saying while showing his watch at us.

BELLA'S POV:

We arrived at Alberta University's Music Theatre. It was decorated very nicely. Our eyes were filled with people prepping for the competition. We are in the backstage now because we are the participants obviously. I saw Rose sitting on the front row along with the other audience. 

"Guys, we got this okay? Let's crush this and show them that we are baddies!" Zack exclaimed with such sassiness. We all put our hands out and said "WE ARE ONE! WE CAN DO THIS!"

"ALRIGHTTT AUDIENCE AND JUDGES, NOW WE HAVE BELLA'S TEAM FROM YORK'S!!' the host said excitedly while putting his arms up. Everyone started to clap and cheer for us. Rubbing my sweaty palms together, I held the mic tightly. We walked on the stage and stand in our positions.

I looked at Rose and I also noticed all the familiar faces from Alberta's. Exhaling a deep breath, I started to sing as Zack, Bella and Penny played the instruments.

ROSE'S POV:

I had goosebumps all over me. Bella's voice was melodious. It held everyone captivated and the more impressive part was they played a video at the screen. It was a video of Bella and a girl .  It was about both of them falling in love and showing intimacy. The whole video was representing love of the LGBTQ+ community.  But Bella and the girl was the main characters. It was heartwarming and touching. The video went well with Bella's voice. It felt like watching a music video except it's live music.

Bella's voice slowed down and she went quiet. 

BELLA'S  POV:

Everyone stood up and started to clap their hands. I winked at Rose because she also stood up and mouthed 'you guys did a fantastic job' while smiling like proud mom. She gave me two thumbs up and slightly bit her lips when she realized I winked at her. The students were screaming 'WOHOOO THAT WAS AMAZING GUYS!!', 'I LOVE IT BELLA' or 'YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME'. Zack, Laura, Penny and I looked at each other while smiling widely. We held each other's hands and bowed. The host was walking to us and said 'thank you guys it was an awesome performance'. But before I could get back to the backstage, I heard a loud 'wait'. Turning my back to face the audience, I saw a girl around my age jumping on the stage and I quickly recognized her. It was Mira, she was one of my roommate's friend. I used to see her a lot when I was in Alberta because she hangs out in our room with my roommate.

I furrowed my eyes in confusion because her eyes had this unusual spark and she slowly jogged towards me. She took the mic from the host and got down on her knees while holding my hands. My eyes widened in shock, I gasped so did the audience. I could see fumes coming out of Rose's ears from the corner of my eyes. 

"Alberta is organizing a surprise welcome party for all of the participants. Will you be my date for the surprise party tonight?," Mira asked shyly. I gulped and averted my gaze to Rose. She crossed her arms and I saw her jaw clenching. Shit, I'm f*cked! Rose and I just came into a conclusion that we will keep 'us' a secret until I finished my degree. But, things like this will make it more complicated.

"SAY YES!SAY YES!SAY YES!SAY YES BELLA!" the audience cheered up even the judges did. I mentally face palmed myself. I don't have much of a choice now do I? I have to be nice now? I will sound like a b*tch if I reject this offer. Not in front of the judges please.

I sighed in defeat and put a fake smile. I said "yes" quickly while taking the rose in Mira's hand. No wonder, I used to catch her staring at me all the time all these years. She was so nice to me and let me tell you she is not a very nice person. She will only talk to you if she needs something. I did not expect her to have a crush on me. She went back to the seat with a smug look in her face. I know she is just trying to get in my pants because trust me I still remember the times where she offered casual s*x with me. She knew I cannot say no if she asked me here.

I got back to the backstage after glancing one last time at Rose. She looked disappointed and upset. She didn't even look at my face.
