CHAPTER 23-EMMA

BELLA'S POV:

Unable to roll around the bed, I groaned wondering why while stretching my arms out. Something was weighing me down. Furrowing my eyebrows while my eyes were still closed, I rubbed my eyes raw to slap away my sleepiness. Looking down at my chest I saw Rose lying on top of me. I blushed looking at our position and I felt something poking my thighs. "What is that?" my heart whispered while beating so fast. Before my brain could make any unnecessary scenarios, I slowly lifted my hand to wake Rose up.

The sudden ringing of the phone stopped my motion but woke Rose very fast. She quickly hopped off the bed to grab her phone from the nightstand. She looked at me for a second and realized I was wide awake. Scratching the back of her neck, she smiled at me nervously and picked up the call. "Hey," she said, and I sensed a dreadful tone from Rose's voice. Confused, I sat on the bed trying to figure out who made Rose nervous. "Emma, I told you I will be at Edmonton for a few days. Remember the singing competition I told you about?" she said while rubbing her temples. She looked annoyed and I'm worried now.

Sighing, she hung up and throw her phone at the bed. She sat at the edge of the bed groaning. "Is everything okay, Rosey?" I asked her worriedly not caring about the nickname that slipped away from my mouth. "Yes, its just umm....my friend Emma....she umm."

ROSE'S POV:

"Yes, its just umm....my friend Emma....she umm." Unable to finish my sentence, I rubbed my face furiously. "Hey what's wrong Rosey?" I felt Bella's hand on my shoulder. Cute nickname.

Contemplating whether I should tell her what kind of a monster Emma is, I sighed. Maybe this is not the right time we still have competition and Bella confessed her feelings for me last night. Turning my back to face her, I took her hand in my hand and gently kissed it. "Emma is my one and only friend. She was there for me at my lowest when everyone thought I'm a freak just because I'm an intersex. She was nice. But now she changed. I barely recognize her. She also did some bad things but I can't seem to get rid of her because like I said she's all I have. When the right time comes I will tell you everything. okay?" I heard myself say shakily as I pushed a strand of her hair behind her ears.

Having a concerned look plastered to her face, she slowly nodded and smiled at me reassuringly. Grateful that she is not digging deep into matter, I smiled at her back. She hopped off the bed and walked towards the edge of the bed. She straddled my lap and hugged me. Taken back by her actions I hesitantly put my arms over waist pulling her closer. 

"It's okay Rosey. I'm here for you. I know we only know each other for a while but whatever I'm feeling for you is so strong. I hope we can decide on what we are going to do once my finals are over. Even if not as a lover, I will always be here for you as a friend. You can always count on me. My family is your family now. Listen to my heartbeat, hear how fast it beats for you. I hope you cam figure things out with Emma because you deserve the best," Bella said shyly while still hugging me tightly.

Tears threatening to fall from my eyes, I left out a shaky hum and listened to her heartbeat. It was indeed beating so wildly for me and somehow it was very calming. After I calmed down, I lifted my head to look at her. Her cheeks were pink and she was looking down at my pants. Furrowing my eyebrows, I realized she was looking at my morning wood. Smirking at her reaction, I put my finger on her chin and lifted her head so she can look into my eyes.

Without hesitation, I kissed her deeply so she can feel all my emotions and she tilted her head deepening the kiss. Never in my life I felt a kiss this intense. Maybe she is the missing piece of me that I was trying to find all my life. For once, I felt complete.
