37 - I'm proud of you

Sorry for not posting yesterday guys but I've been super busy and I'm still gonna be for the rest of the summer so I'm not sure if I can post every other day as I usually do but I'll try my best!!!

*Chris pov*

A few days after I find myself sitting at the table doing an online interview for the Snow Piercer along with the rest of the cast but they are in the studio while I'm through a computer. I would have had to travel to New York but I decided not to do it cause we're so close to baby girl being here.

"So how was filming this?"
"Well..." Octavia Spencer starts to say
"A bit...uhm...brutal?" Jamie Bell says
"I agree on that..." Tilda Swinton replies and I only nod to what my cast mates said
"It's a great movie but, yeah it wasn't always easy to film..." I say
"We've got a sequence of you Chris, seeming to train for a scene. There walls of wood all around you"
"Oh yeah, that's gonna be a good scene!"
"It's thrilling!" Octavia says smiling
"You have to had some fun at least...or not?"
"Maybe not in the scenes but in set sure, it's an amazing cast, amazing and so talented people!" Jamie says
"We had lunch together every day and also dinner most of the times" Tilda says "it's fun to almost live 24/7 with these guys!"
"It really was, then we all had some family coming over at different times, we were still filming on my birthday in June and my wife, brother in law and a friend came and we all had a blast, this cast made them feel welcomed. It's an amazing energy we all have and I loved working with all of them" I tell
"Aww Chris...you big softie..."
"You know it Octavia!" I says chuckling

We all answer more questions, this interview is about an hour long and we still got about 20 minutes but we're having fun, we also played a game of who knows who better. We were just finishing the game when Sofia came and sat in the chair next to mine, still being out of shot and I smile at her
"Oh I think someone just made their presence in there..." Jamie comments
"I've got company yeah" I say
The guys start to say hi to Sofia and she waves at them, only her hand is in shot
"She can crash this interview if she wants, we won't mind..."
I smile at Sofia and she scoots closer and says hi to everyone
"You're glowing girl"
"Thanks Tilda! Feel like a wake tho..."
"You're beautiful" I murmur in her ear
"Thanks" she replies softly
She stays there as we keep talismans from time to time a question is for her too.
"Mhm ow" she whispers and I look at her seeing her grimacing
"You ok?"
"Yeah, just your daughter kicking my lung"
"Mhm ok"
I grab her hand that's resting on my leg and squeeze softly going back to the interview, but still being able to hear her almost inaudible moans of pain.

It's when at one point she squeezes my hand real tight that I excuse myself from the interview for a moment
"Are you sure everything is ok?"
"Mhm...I think...I-" she suddenly stops and looks down and I look at her face in concern
"What?"
"I think my water just broke..."
"Oh! Ok, we've got this, we've got this!" I say and kiss her head softly
"Sorry guys but I'm needed, my interviews ends here!"
"If this is what I think it is good luck sunshines!"
"Thanks Octavia! Bye!"

I shut my computer off and help Sofia up gently smiling at her
"I'm gonna go upstairs and bring you some clean clothes, do you need me to bring something else for you from upstairs?"
"Nope...I'm gonna start calling our families and then I think we should go to the hospital"
"Sure"
I run upstairs and I grab the most comfortable thing I can find for her to wear and one of those pad things to put on the her car seat so if there's any leaking it will be absorbed.
"Here" I say out of breath coming back to her "called your mom?"
"Yeah, she's gonna call Seb and they'll be over there once we tell them to, also called Lisa and she's passing the word into your siblings"
"Ok good...how are you doing baby?"
"The contractions are starting to hurt more..."
"Breath through them baby, just like we learned"
"I'm trying..."
"You're so good" I say helping her into her dress and then kissing her lips "I'm so proud of you"
"I haven't done anything yet..."
"You've carried out princess safely in here for nine months, that's not nothing..."
"I guess" she says smiling up at me
"I think we should go"
"Yup"

I help her to the car and to get in and then start to drive to the hospital, in the meantime I call her OBGYN.

"Dr. Morgan speaking"

"Doc hi, it's Chris Evans"

"Chris, hi!"

"It's time doc, we're heading to the hospital"

"Oh good! Are you timing the contractions?"

"We are!"

"Good Sofia, how far apart?"

"Uh...five minutes doc and her water broke already!"

"Very well, I'm heading out now, I'll meet you there so we can bring your little girl into the world!"

"See you there!"

I keep her hand in mine so she can squeeze it anytime she needs to up until we arrive at the hospital and walk in. We find a nurse and tell her what's happening and she settles us into one of the labor and delivery rooms since Sofia's water already broke.
"All settled..." I say once she has the monitor for the baby placed on her belly
"Yeah...are you ready daddy?" She says smiling a teary smile at me
"Yeah, you?"
"I can't wait to meet her"
"Me too handsome"

When Dr Morgan arrives he immediately checks Sofia and tells us she's 5 centimeters dilated, so we're halfway there.
"Your doing good mama, I'll be over to check you again in a bit ok, anything you need call me"
"Thanks" I say shaking his hand he then nods and exits the room
"Halfway..." I say pressing a sweet kiss on her lips "do you need something, want to walk?"
"I want to stand a little..."
"Sure, come here" I help her up and gently place my hands on her hips as we sway from left to right.
"Would you mind calling my mom?"
"Not at all baby"
As we keep swaying I pull out my phone and call Georgeta, telling her that they can come over when they won't to and she says they'll be here in half an hour.
I do the same with my mom, she tells me she will come over on her own so there not too many people to overwhelm Sofia.

It's about two hours later when the doc checks Sofia and says she's ready to push, he goes out for another moment again to get ready and Seb and Georgeta walk back in
"I hear you're ready?" Sebastian says kissing her head
"Yup..."
"I love you printesa, give it all you've got, I'll see you later" he says kissing her head again
"Love you too Sebby"
Gosh these two are joined at the hip, and I love it!
Georgeta settles on the other side of the bed ready to grasp Sofia's hand.
Sofia looks sad as she watches Sebastian walk out of the room
"Do you want Sebastian to stay?"
"Would you mind?"
"Why would I baby, I'll call him"
I walk out of her room and reach Seb
"Man go back in there you're about to have a baby!" He says getting the attention of my mother too
"What the hell are you doing out Christopher? She says
"I just wanted to invite Sebastian in, Sofia wants you in there"
"R-really?"
"If you're up to it..."
"Yeah yeah!"
My mom smiles at us and hugs us both before lightly shoving us back down the corridor...most mothers in law would be sad or even mad not to be invited in the delivery room but not mine, she's happy that Sebastian gets to see his niece and goddaughter coming into the world.

"Ready to push Sofia?"
"Yes doc!"
"Let the show begin..."
