What a day! September 10th, our sweet little Jade turned one today! With the help of family Sofia and I organized a get together at our house to celebrate her first year of life, and it was the perfect day! She also shared her new toys with Ethan so they could play together a bit.
The party is now well over, Scarlett is staying her for a couple of days and she's currently helping us cleaning the kitchen. The rest of the family helped us with the backyard and living room before we sent them home, so we're doing the last bits before going to bed. "Thank you for letting me stay" Scarlett says while she's rinsing out a couple of dishes "Of course we wound let you book a hotel or go straight back to New York..." I tell her "You know you're welcome here anytime Scar" Sofia says kissing her cheek as she walks by her. Once we finish getting the kitchen cleaned up we decide that we're gonna put away Jade's gifts in the morning cause it's getting late now and we all still have to shower. "See you in the morning" Sofia says to Scarlett and we both hug her and wish her good night. We walk upstairs to our own bedroom and immediately reach the bathroom where we strip from our clothes and get in the shower together. We get done pretty quickly and after drying off and doing some doing care, Sofia puts on her pj set while I get in a pair of shorts and we both decide to go check on Jade. When we open her bedroom door, thanks to the little night light we leave on, we see that she's awake "What are still doing awake?" I ask ruffling her hair "Should be sleeping baby girl" Sofia tells her trying to make her lay back down in her crib but Jade only extends her arms towards us "Mama-mama" Sofia and I look at each other in shock "Did she just...?" "She said mama. Baby she said mama" I tell her and scoop her up in a hug "Oh my gosh..." "Yay! Good girl!" I say leaning down to Jade crib while still having Sofia legs wrapped around my waist "I guess she can come sleep in our bed for tonight..." she says I let Sofia down and pick up Jade going back into our bedroom and laying in bed with her in between us. "Now it's time to sleep tho princess" Sofia tells her cuddling up with her and starting to sing her a little song while I just admire my girls.

When she finally falls asleep Sofia and I start to talk quietly and the baby topic comes up. "Now that she turned one and that I'm feeling so much better I wouldn't mind expanding the family..." "I wouldn't mind either...what are you thinking baby?" "What about adoption? We could research for an organization and enlist..." "I love that, why don't we do that tomorrow after you get home from work? I know Scarlett has a couple of things to do around here in Boston and she wanted to bring Jade to the park so at least we should have a couple of hours for ourselves" "Tomorrow after work it is, you could start searching while I'm at the bookstore?" "I sure will, but now let's get some sleep ok? We're both tired" "Yup, night handsome. Love you" she says leaning over Jade to kiss my lips softly "Night baby, love you too"
