Today was Christmas Day and we spent it all at my mom's house, our whole family was there and it was so good! All the kids had fun, the littlest ones too. DeAndre was so excited when he saw all the goodies on the table and all the presents. We had such an amazing day and I'm so glad DeAndre enjoyed it too.
Now we're home and we just put the babies to bed, while us three enjoy some more time together on the couch. "So you enjoyed today?" Sofia asks sitting down next to DeAndre "I really did! Thank you for the presents!" "Of course baby" Sofia says pulling the boy to snuggle up with her "You know what we're doing tomorrow?" I ask as I admire the two cuddling "What?" "We're gonna set your room up and remodel Jade and Mateo's" "Really?" "Yup!" "I didn't know the furniture came in" "I kept it a secret from you..." "I can't wait to start!" "I bet, me too kid" I say ruffling his hair "So do I get to start in the new school in January?" "You do, are you happy for it" "I like learning..." "Good!" Sofia says chuckling a bit We decided to change his school to be nearer home and while he's at school we'll have the babies and if we're both working both our moms already told us they're happy to babysit.
We also talked with him about me being away for long periods of time, for example in March filming for the second avengers movie will start and it's gonna end in August. It's going to be mostly filmed in England, he understood and we told him that when he needs to be close to me cause he misses me we can organize and make them fly over to England.
After saying goodnight we all went to sleep so now that it's the morning after DeAndre and I can get to work while Sofia stays with the little ones and the dogs. We got upstairs and started from his room since we had to put up some wallpaper so it could properly dry while we put together his bed and desk. It's gonna be Star Wars themed cause he loves it so the wall paper will be like watching into space and then we're gonna hang onto the wall many little Star Wars drawings from a local shop. While for the babies room, since three walls are yellow and one has cloudy wallpaper on it we just decided to hand Mateo's name over his crib, just like Jade's and to put up a couple of boy themed drawings and pictures, from the same local shop we've got Jade's and DeAndre.
"I'm gonna tell you if it's straight!" "Also make sure I don't fall from the ladder pal!" "I've got you dad" he says smiling up at me I'm taken aback cause it's the first time he called me dad but for now I decided not to say anything, I'll wait and keep my cool see if he says it again... After putting all the wallpaper on we got started on his desk first. We choose all white furniture since the wardrobe that was already in this room is white and he choose to keep it so it all matches. "I can't screw this one in..." "Let me see...oh there" "Thanks!" Fortunately putting together the furniture wasn't that hard and by lunch time we were done. "Good job buddy" "It's so cool!" "How are things going in here boys?" Sofia comes in asking "We're done...do you like it?" "I love it DeAndre, now go wash your hands lunch is ready" "We'll be right there" I tell her
At lunch while DeAndre and Sofia are in helped Mateo feed himself, he's nine months old so yes he makes a huge mess but he's good and Jade is 14 months so she can do it by herself also still making a mess... "How come we have yet to see a marvel movie?" DeAndre asks while he's helping putting away the dishes "That's a good question...why have t we Chris?" "Don't know, we could do that tonight if you want" I tell the both of them "I want to!" DeAndre says happily "Cool, let's get back to work then for dinner we could order pizza and watch a marvel movie you want" "Thanks!"
Once we're back upstairs we hang on the walls Mateo's name and the new drawings, it's easy and we get done real quick, still having the majority of the afternoon free. We both take a shower and then we join the babies and Sofia on the couch snuggling up under warm blankets reading a book.
"I had the best Christmas ever. I wanted to thank you again. I've never felt so loved before" DeAndre tells us when we're getting him into his bed after watching Captain America the first Avenger. "You deserved it and we're very happy you enjoyed yesterday" "You and Mateo are always gonna be so loved" I tell him "I love you both mom and dad" he says before hugging us warmly and we do just the same "We love you too baby" "Love you so much buddy" "Sleep tight ok? You know where to find us" "Night" "Night!"
After getting out of his room and checking one more time on Jade and Mateo we got into our bed. We felt so emotional and yet he called us mom and dad and the day couldn't have ended any better. We also talked with him if he was ok with us announcing their adoption and he gave us the all clear so we found the cutest photo of the boys and posted it on our instagrams.
