50 - Family support

The bad news took a toll on both Chris and I moods of course, but whenever we're around Jade we try not to dwell on it too much cause she doesn't deserve to feel that mommy and daddy are hurting, so we put on a smile, or really a smile comes naturally when we see her, and play with our little girl.

It's now the next day and we've known for sure about my cancer for a bout 24 hours, it's time to get ready to go at Lisa's for Sunday lunch and everyone is gonna be there so we were thinking to tell them after lunch. They deserve to know as soon as possible since they're family and then once we'll be back home Chris is gonna call the Russo's and explain everything to them, asking to do what they can do to push back filming without saying exactly why to the rest of the cast and crew, the only people that will now the full truth for now are gonna be Sebastian and Scarlett obviously, whom I'm gonna call later, and the Russo's.

"I'm so glad we decided to freeze my eggs before I got pregnant with Jade while I was doing my shots..." I say as I button up my jeans
"I'm glad too baby" he says kissing my head
"That's our only way..."
"We can adopt, I think it would be nice"
"Right! Let me get better first and then we'll expand the family as much as we want"
"Your timing sweetheart, I'll be here"
"I know, I love you so much"
"I love you so fucking much more" he says managing to pull a smile from me.
Once we're all ready we grab Jade and Dodger and drive to his mother house just in time.

"God Lisa this is delicious" my mom says as we all taste a new recipe Lisa tried for today
"I'm really glad you all are liking it! Oh make sure to save some room for dessert, Georgeta brought Papanasi!"
"Yes!" Scott says making us all laugh
From time to time Chris gets up to check on sleeping Jade and miles, we set them in the living room so they won't be bothered by us talking. Miles is growing up so fast already and we've seen that Jade is intrigued by him. Of course she has a great relationship with Ethan but he's bigger so it's different seeing her react to a smaller baby.

It's when all the plates have been put in the dishwasher and all the counters have been cleaned up properly that we all sit in the living room, it's time...
"So, Chris and I have to tell you something..."
"You're pregnant?" Sam asks as she cuddles up to Seb
"It would have been easier..."
"What do you mean?" My mom asks
"It's about my health...I went to my OBGYN the other day for a routine check up" I say and I feel tears already starting to well up in my eyes and Chris arms ceiling my waist and pulling me up on his lap "he found two masses, one in each of my ovaries and yesterday the blood tests confirmed it's stage 1 ovarian cancer" I finish with tears streaming down my cheeks and I feel one of Chris's on my shoulder
"Printesa...." Sebastian whispers before closing his eyes
"I'm lucky cause we caught it on time, I already have an appointment scheduled for next week with one of the best surgeons of the country, they'll have to remove my tubes and ovaries"
"I'm so sorry sweetie" my mom says pulling Chris and I into the warmest and biggest hugs ever

One by one all our family members hug us and tell us that they're here for whatever we both might need, baby sit, dog sit, meals prep everything, which's we're both so thankful for. Sam tells me that I don't have to worry about the store she'll handle everything and that I can come only if I feel like I feel good.
Sebastian is trying to keep his emotions at bay but I know he'll break as soon as he gets home so I'll be sure to have a talk with him.
"So what's the plan, surgery and chemo?"
"My doc thinks only surgery is sufficient, but we'll see what the surgeon says on Wednesday"
"Ok..."
After more talk, not only about that we leave, Seb walls crumbled down and he apologized for reacting like that in front of me and I told him he was stupid for thinking he shouldn't react like this in front of me...we hugged for long before going home making sure the both of us were feeling a bit better.

Back at home I was playing with Jade on the floor when I heard Chris coming in the living room still in the phone with the Russo's
"Thank you so much guys, we really appreciate it!" He says "oh well just say that I have important family health issues that needs to be delays with right now and we'll start filming as soon as we can...yeah I will, thanks!" He closes the call and let his phone fall lightly on the couch cushions before sitting on the floor next to us and kissing both mine and Jade's heads.
"They are pushing back filming for as long as we need and they send you the best of luck and lots of love" he says
"Thanks! No I'll have to call Scarlett..."
"Yeah..."

We decided it was best to call her together, so we did and we spent almost an hour in the phone with her, she asked if she could come to stay here with us so she could help and hoped to find ways to lighten up the mood a little or bring me on girls dates, of course we told her yes cause she's a very positive presence and we could use her help too.

It was a long and hard day today and a hard journey is ahead of us so once Jade was fed and asleep and we ate a bit too we cuddled up in bed, music playing and books in hands, was a good finish to this day....
