Chapter Twenty-four

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

Niyakap ni Amory ang Mommy niyang kadarating lang galing sa Probinsiya kasama nito ang Daddy niyang nakangiti sa kaniya mula sa likuran nito. Amory awkwardly hugged his Dad tapos ibinalik niya ang tingin sa kaniyang inang nakangiti sa kanila.

Mukhang masaya ang Mommy niya so Amory just swallowed what he had on his mind about his parent's complicated relationship and decided to zip his mouth. Sa ngayon, he will let them be. He hopes na magtino na ang kaniyang ama.

"Nagluto ako ng sinigang My, kain muna kayo." Sabi niya habang tinutulungan ang mga itong magpasok ng mga dala dala bagahe.

When they've settled down tinulungan niya rin ang Mommy niyang magprepare ng table at sabay-sabay na silang naupo para kumain.

"How's your school nak?" Ikinibit lang ni Amory ang kaniyang balikat because his school life is the same as before and he felt awkward catching up with his dad after nitong mamababae.

"How about volleyball? May parating ba kayong major event?" tanong ng Daddy niya ulit.

Honestly his Dad was a really good dad even though he was already cheating when Amory was younger, his dad played with him all the time when he was a kid, he always made time for him, he tried attending events that required his attendance, and he provided for their family. Amory was genuinely grateful for him but the feelings towards this man who continuously hurt and cheated on his mom—is not the same as before anymore. He doesn't view him as the same hero like when he was the naïve kid before.

"Yeah we're training for the upcoming UAAP." He answered plainly. He wanted the conversation to end because honestly seeing their family like this, pretending as if they are all okay is sickening. He wanted this lunch to end at magkulong nalang sa kuwarto niya.

"How about a girlfriend? Nasundan mo na ba ang dati mong nobya? What was her name again?" Amory's dad is still enthusiastic about putting a conversation up with him.

Ang Mommy niya ang sumagot nang hindi siya umimik. "Her name was Soleil, such a pretty and sweet girl."

"I haven't had a girlfriend since we broke up." Amory answered.

"Bakit naman?Sayang naman ang kagandang lalaki mo kung hindi ka magnonobya ngayon?" His dad jokingly asked but Amory wanted to hissed so much. Kaya pala laging nambabae ito kahit may pamilya na dahil nasasayangan din ito sa kagandahang lalaki nito kung hindi makakakolekta ng mga babae. Well he should know he raised a different type of child. Hinding-hindi siya gagaya dito.

"Well, because I like a guy right now." Nakita ni Amory kung papaano nabitawan ng mga magulang niya ang kubyertos ng mga ito. At gulat na napatingin sa kaniya.

Amory decided to straightforwardly tell them about Sebastian. Even if things might not go well with them ang importante ay masabi niya sa mga ito because this relationship with Seb means entirely important to him.

"What did you say..? You like a guy ba kamo?" His mom decided to ask dahil hindi na nakapagsalita ang asawa nito.

"Yeah." He answered flatly. Pero sa totoo lang iniisip niyang it would be a lot nicer if they would accept who he is without judgment and long interrogation because he himself haven't reflected much about his sexuality.

"What does that mean? Are you gay?" Ikinibit ni Amory ang kaniyang mga balikat because he knows that the spectrum goes way beyond being gay.

"I don't know. I just suddenly like a guy and I haven't reflected about my sexuality much. I just accepted that I like him." Amory answered.

Hindi na nakasagot ang Mommy niya at ang buong lunch ay naging tahimik nalang. His dad remained silent also pero mukhang hindi ito natutuwa sa nalaman.

Of course. His family is not the type to just suddenly embrace him if he comes out to them. Amory expected this much of a reaction dahil buti nga hindi nagwala ang mga ito.

Who would be happy kung ang nag-iisa mong unico hijo ay may magustuhang kapwa lalaki. When raising him he didn't show any signs na magiging ganito ito? Amory somewhat understand his parents.

When they finished eating lunch, Amory washed the dishes and went straight to his room. He laid down his bed and checked his phone.

There was nothing from Sebastian in there.

Last night hindi sila nakapag-usap ng maayos dahil busy ito. Sebastian stayed inside his study room the entire night and he was not there when Amory woke up. Hindi na niya ito nahintay because he had to prepare the house and magluto narin dahil nga parating ang parents niya.

He remembered why Seb was mad at him. Soleil posted a photo with him kasi noong nasa mall sila with the caption 'Date with ex' tapos isinend pa ni Craig sa GC ng mga ito. Sa isinend na screenshot ni Bettina, Sebastian didn't reply at all to the conversation kahit minention na ito ng mga kaibigan.

Tapos sa kaniya magagalit. Sasapakin niya talaga si Craig pag nakita niya ito.

He called Sebastian's number and akala niya hindi nito sasagutin but just after a few rings he answered it.

"Hello." Sebastian answered coldly.

"Hi. Bakit ganiyan parin boses mo? Hindi ka pa ba tapos magalit sa akin?" But instead of answering him, Sebastian asked kung ano ang kailangan niya. "What do you want?" In his most impatient tone.

"I need to..." Amory trailed off because he just suddenly heard someone else talking to Sebastian in the background. And it sounded like a woman. "Who is that?" Amory rolled his eyes at himself because he knew he sounded like he was jealous. Well he is kinda pero hindi siya aamin. The woman's voice in the background sounds beautiful and elegant. Sana all.

"If you don't need anything, I have to go. I'm in an important meeting right now." Sebastian didn't answer his question at pinatay nalang bigla ang tawag.

Amory stared at his phone for a moment. Okay. Meeting daw eh. He should believe him because what other choice is there for him?

Amory took a short nap pagkatapos ay umalis din siya ng bahay at nagtambay kila Rain. When he arrived nagulat siya dahil nandoon din si Mico and Ismael.

"Timing ka bro, we were about to call you." Sabi ni Ismael. Sumingit naman siya ng upo sa gitna ng mga ito sa pandalawahang sofa kahit masikip na.

Naiinis na siniko siya ni Mico pero niyakap niya lang ito ng mahigpit. "Get off me!" Hindi siya nakinig at nang-iinis na umaamba pa siyang hahalikan ito sa pisngi.

Rain and Ismael are just laughing while watching them.

"Anong ginagawa niyo dito? Andito kayo lagi hindi naman kayo kasali sa budget ni tita." Biro niya sa mga ito dahil ginawa na nga nilang tambayan ang bahay nila Rain pag vacant ng kahit sino sa kanila kahit wala roon si Rain. Taga ibang school kasi ito kaya duon nalang sila nagkikita-kita.

"Ikaw kamo pinagpalit mo na kami sa Astor na yun." Pabirong sagot ni Ismael sa pang-asar niya sa mga ito. Agad naman siyang napatingin kay Mico at naalala ang away nila sa hospital. They haven't talk about it they just decided to go back the way they were nang hindi na ito galit but Mico is still vocal about his dislike with Sebastian kahit na ito rin naman ang tumulong kay Rain.

Binibiro nga ito ni Rain na baka daw hindi pa ito nakakamove on kay Iska at galit parin ito dahil naagaw ng kaibigan ni Sebastian na si Atlas ang babae. Mico would just answer that he doesn't trust the guy and that he would just hurt him.

But for Amory parang ganun na nga talaga ang puwedeng mangyari. He had prepared himself for a heartbreak since the beginning lalo na dahil sa five months that they've been together walang assurance at label galing dito. It's funny because Amory felt like he is really is similar to his mom.

Hanggang maubos nalang sila...
