Special Chapter 6

Amory remained angry at Mico. Hindi sila nag-iimikan mula Pampanga hanggang pagbalik nila sa Manila.

"Are you going to attend Rain's birthday later?" Mico asked, trying to break the silence.

Malamang. Pero nanatiling tahimik si Amory.

"What time are you going? Should I fetch you or are you driving?" He pressed on.

"..."

"Should we buy a birthday present on the way?" Mico asked, his voice softening.

Amory stayed quiet, still refusing to respond.

"Hmmm... should I sleep over at your house later?" Mico teased.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Amory, naiinis siyang lumingon kay Mico.

Wtf? Simula nang may nangyari sa kanilang dalawa, hindi pa ito ulit tumatapak sa bahay nila.

Amory cleared his throat, attempting to shift the conversation. "Let's just buy him a gift at the nearby mall."

Ngumisi si Mico, clearly amused. "Copy, boss."

Sakto lang na umuwi sila sa Maynila dahil napagdesisyunan ni Rain na magpa-early celebration ng kanyang birthday—ngayon lang kasi kompleto at available ang barkada.

It was a simple celebration at their house, at sila-sila lang namang magkakaibigan ang invited. After all their bar escapades back in college, maaga nga silang nagsawa sa ingay at gulo ng clubs kaya ngayon gusto nalang nilang sa isang private space nala maghang-out like sa bahay ng isa't-isa when they are free.

When they arrived, nakahanda na ang mga pupuwestuhan para sa inuman mamaya, pero dumiretso muna sila sa loob ng bahay.

"Happy birthday, par! Sana hindi ka mamatay forever. I love you, muah!" Tumatawa pa si Amory habang hinahalikan si Rain sa pisngi.

"Happy birthday, bro," Mico added, tightly bro-hugging Rain.

"Oh, bati na kayong dalawa? Sabay pa kayong dumating," Ismael asked, hugging both of them.

Their friends were unaware of what had transpired between them. Akala ng barkada, may simpleng tampuhan lang sa pagitan nila.

Mico shrugged and sat down beside Amory, casually resting his arm on the back of Amory's chair.

"Where's Julia?" Mico asked, referring to Ismael's girlfriend.

"I'm here!" Julia called out, walking over. She gave Mico a kiss on the cheek. "Grabe, ang guwapo mo lalo ngayon, Mico! Ano bang pinakain sa inyo ng Military Academy? Sobrang pogi mo!"

"Baka in love," Rain teased, raising an eyebrow as he looked at both Amory and Mico knowingly.

Amory nervously took a sip of his drink, trying to hide his anxiety. Rain might have noticed the subtle awkwardness between them; he was always so observant.

"How about you, Ry? Sino yung hot dude sa IG post mo? Chinito, moreno, at guwapo! Spill!" Julia teased further.

"His name's Anton," Amory replied, trying to deflect the attention.

"And...?" Julia probed, a mischievous grin on her face.

"Wala. We're just friends."

"Friends? Mukha kang nadiligan eh," Julia teased again, laughing.

"Hoy, Ismael, pashut up mo yang girlfriend mo!" Amory said, rolling his eyes.

"So, nadiligan ka ba talaga?" Rain added with a smirk.

Amory flushed, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks as the teasing intensified. He covered his face with both hands, overwhelmed. Tangina talaga pati sex life niya tinatanong.
