Anakin doesn't leave Jax's side. April went to his parents' house with Isaiah for a few days, she didn't want to take Jax with her while they redecorate the rooms.
I take a few photos of the two of them playing with the big Lego bricks and trying to put them together.
Poppy lies next to the two of them and watches them, I sit down with them and build with them, they give me Legos and I attach them to each other.
The front door opens, both boys turn their heads, Jax and Anakin both crawl to the hallway, Hayden comes back with the two boys in his arms.
"Hey, sweet girl."
"Hey," I stay seated and he sits the boys down next to me again, Hayden kisses me on the mouth.
He sits down next to us, his hand strokes my back, I lay my head on his shoulder, we both watch the boys play.
"Soon he'll have someone else to play with," Hayden whispers.
"Yes," I say and smile. I lie on my back, Hayden lies on one elbow and strokes my stomach. I run my fingers through his soft blonde hair and I could swear that Hayden is using my shampoo.
He puts his face in the crook of my neck and kisses me gently there, my hand now playing with his short hair on his neck. Little hands rest on my stomach, I look down and smile when Anakin and Jax try to climb on me. Hayden sits up as well as I do and I take the two little boys on my lap.
The front door knocks, which makes me and Hayden look at each other in surprise, but maybe it's his mother. He gets up and opens the front door for a few seconds and he comes back into the living room with Sheila. Suddenly everything inside me tightens, Anakin starts to cry when he sees Sheila, Jax snuggles up to my neck. I get up with them both.
"Oh hello, who is this sweetie?" she says and nudges Jax on the cheek, who immediately grabs her perfectly styled hair. Anakin, who sees what his best friend is doing, grabs the other strand of Sheila's hair and since I can't help her pull it away, I have no choice but to watch the two of them.
"Okay... ouch, that hurts." says Sheila and tries to smile, but she fails.
I know how much it hurts when the boys pull your hair, but at that moment I'm damn proud of them both. Sheila manages to untangle her hair from the boys' fists.
"How are you, Aleia?" She takes a small step back from the boys.
"Good, and you?" I ask her, suppressing a grin.
"Good. I hope I'm not making a fuss by being here," she smiles fake.
"Oh no, you're always welcome." I give her the same fake smile she gives me.
Hayden, who doesn't notice the fake smile between me and Sheila, smiles at us and probably thinks we're going to be best friends.
I give Hayden a sweet smile and take the two boys to the room for a nap.
After it takes me twenty minutes to get the boys to sleep, I go into the living room. Hayden and Sheila are laughing. I want to squeeze the laughter out of Sheila. And Hayden too.
"Sweet girl, Sheila and I are going to have a drink." he says and gives me a kiss on the cheek and disappears without asking me if I want to come.
My chest tightens and I start to cry. He just left with this beautiful woman who he's known pretty well his whole life and left me alone with two boys who can't even talk. Oh God. Will he leave me alone with Anakin and a newborn?
