My mom broke her arm standing on a ladder to photograph a bride and groom from above. She lost her balance and fell down. I flew to London straight away, even though I wanted to stay with Hayden and April.
"You really could have stayed with your boyfriend and April." Mom says as I'm folding laundry in the living room. "Mom, it's okay. You were always there for me when I wasn't feeling well."
We watch 𝐹𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 while I fold the laundry and Mom snuggles up on the couch with Poppy and Tessa.
"Should we order something or wait until Sam cooks something?" I look away from the TV at my mom. "I'm honestly hungry. Let's order something. Your brothers can do something for themselves." she says. I put the laundry in the basket. "And what do you want?"
,,Chinese." I nod and call there. "They say it will take half an hour or an hour."

I holed up in my room when Mom fell asleep after dinner. My brothers came home an hour ago and are playing PlayStation together in the basement, whose screaming and shouting can be heard all the way up here. Dad is in his office, working on his manuscript. When I check on Mom, she's still sleeping, so I go back up to my room. It's slowly getting dark. Dad comes into my room and announces that he has carried Mom up to her bedroom and that he is going to sleep now too.
I wait until Hayden answers FaceTime, I put my phone on the dresser and before I can greet him I scream so loudly and have an asthma attack when my brothers come out of my closet wearing really scary masks.
"Oh God, Jersey." says one of my brothers.
"Go get Dad." shouts Tom.
"Shit, where's the asthma spray?" "I don't know, man, I'm looking at her bedside drawer. Fuck he's not there either."
"Uh, her... her lips are turning blue."
My lungs feel so tight. I grab Tom's arm and want to tell him to tell Hayden what's happening, but I can't speak. The only thing I can hear before everything around me becomes a swarm is my dad coming into the room and immediately picks me up.

When I open my eyes, I squint against the bright light shining back at me, feeling drained, like I've run a marathon. My lungs hurt a little, my body hurts.
"Oh hey, princess." Dad says when he sees me awake.
"Hey Dad," I croak. He gets up from the chair and pours me water, he puts the straw in and I take a few sips.
"I'll go get your Mom," he says. A few minutes later my mom comes in with my brothers looking so guilty.
"Hey, love, how are you feeling?" Mom asks, stroking my hair.
