It's weird that when Hayden goes out and I call April, she tells me she already has other plans.
It's weird, isn't it?
I shake the thought off and decide to take the kids for a walk. I put Poppy on a leash and Anakin in the stroller and Aurora.
As I pass a store to get some snacks, I see Hayden sitting with a woman and April.
The three of them are laughing and talking, I take my phone and hide and call April first, I see her show Hayden the phone and not answer.
Then I wait a few minutes and call Hayden, who also shows April the phone and doesn't answer either. Hurt, I put the phone away and run to the park.
Anakin runs after Poppy or Poppy runs after Anakin, which makes him laugh.
I make a few videos and send them to the group of me and my brothers and send them to my parents, when I want to send the videos to Hayden, I don't press send.
When Anakin comes to me out of breath, I give him his water bottle and he drinks greedily from it and plops down next to me.
"Mommy." he says and points to the pretzel sticks next to me. I open the pack and give him a pretzel stick, he chews on it and babbles to himself and asks for another one.
After I've given her some water, Poppy puts her head on Anakin's lap and watches the people.
Aurora lies comfortably next to me with her eyes open and looks up at the sky.
Her brother lies down next to her, I quickly take a photo of the two of them and put the phone away as Anakin's eyes slowly close. I let him sleep for half an hour.
My phone rings and it's Hayden, I exhale and answer the call. "Hey, sweet girl." he says.
"Hi." I say and lie back on the blanket that is on the grass.
"Where are you?" He sounds like he's running.
"In the park." I say.
"I'll be there in five minutes." he says and hangs up.
I throw the phone next to me and look up at the sky, after a while I close my eyes, when a shadow looms over me, I open them and look into the beautiful face of Hayden.
He sits down and I do the same, he puts his hand on my hip and pulls me closer and presses his lips to mine.
"What did you do today?" I ask.
"Helped my brother with something." he says.
I try not to let on that I know he's lying. But the fact that he's lying to me hurts. Who was this woman? And why was April there?
"Everything okay, sweet girl?" he asks. I guess he didn't manage to hide it. I clear my throat. "Yeah, just tired." I say and look at the sleeping children.
Anakin's eyes open, he looks around and slowly sits down, rubs his eyes with his little hands and when he sees his father and me he smiles.
"Good morning baby." I say and he comes to me, sits on my lap and lays his head on my chest. He needs to be cuddled after he wakes up.
"Hey buddy." Hayden strokes his son's hair. Aurora, stretching out, opens her little eyes. Hayden leans over me and picks her up.
She immediately beams when she sees her father and snuggles up to him.
