Mom had the great idea of ​​doing a girls' day with me, Zendaya and Briar Rose. We had a mani and pedicure and went shopping and I bought lots of things for Briar Rose and the baby. She helped me buy some clothes for her brother.
Even though we both wanted to buy the whole store because we thought everything was so cute and small, we stopped when the basket was full.
We then went to eat and talked and laughed. Briar Rose said that she liked a boy in her class and that we shouldn't tell her father.
Because he would definitely make a big drama out of it, which made us laugh.
Now Briar Rose is sleeping across from my bedroom and her light green nails are clutching her teddy bear.
"She really had a lot of fun with you guys," whispers Hayden, who is standing next to me and watching Briar Rose sleep.
"We had a lot of fun with her too," I say quietly. "She's really funny." I turn to Hayden and he immediately kisses me on the mouth.
"Thank you." he says.
"For what?"
"For being so good to Briar Rose."
"Oh, you don't have to thank me for that. Briar Rose is such a great girl and I already know that she will be a great sister."
Hayden smiles at me and takes my hand and leads me into the bedroom, he helps me undress. Today has robbed me of my energy, my back is killing me, my feet are swollen. I feel his hands under my stomach and lifting my stomach up a little to take some of the strain off me and I am so grateful to Hayden for that. It feels so good.
We stay for a while, he lifts his hands behind me, my stomach, my head on his chest and I can hear my sigh of peace.
"Thank you." I say to him when he carefully lets go of my stomach.
I grab a top and shorts from my closet and put them on. Hayden helps me lie down and adjusts the pregnancy pillow so I'm comfortable.
He strips down to his boxers and that's the last thing I see before I fall asleep.
I wake up in the middle of the night when I feel a small hand on my stomach, I open my eyes just a little and quickly close them again when I see Briar Rose sitting on the edge of the bed with her lips on my stomach.
"Hello little brother." she whispers. "Actually, I wanted to have a sister so I could do your hair or dress you like a princess. But that you're a boy means I'm getting a brother, which is also great. Shall I tell you why?" I feel her get up from the bed and put her mouth closer to my stomach. "Because then you'll protect me like Mom's brothers protect her." She strokes my belly and whispers: "Good night, little brother, love you." She presses a kiss on my mouth and leaves the bedroom.
I open my eyes and turn to Hayden, who is already looking at me, tears fall from my eyes. Hayden wipes them away with his thumbs.
"Did you hear that, Hayden?" I ask.
"Yes, sweet girl," he says.
"She told our mom." I cry with joy.
It's so sweet that Briar Rose said our mom and not your mom, my heart is full of happiness because Briar Rose sees me as a mom too and not as her father's girlfriend.
I cried with joy for a while until my eyes closed and I fell asleep.
