Episode 16: The Daycare Meeting

Mr. Theo: Alright Mr. And Mrs. Chr-Sherman, thank you for coming out here today. We need to talk about your one-year old daughter, Kanoa..

Aon and Niki both sit across from the daycare teacher. Aon has his face mask off for the meeting, so the room's floor is covered in purple fog.

Niki.chr: Alright, is something wrong?

Mr. Theo would speak and look at Kanoa's papers.

Mr. Theo: No, no. There's no problem here. Kanoa is a very sweet child, however there have been some issues with her diet.. and sleep in the daycare. She doesn't eat much, so I have to remind the staff to feed her more. Also.. there have been times where she doesn't rest. Or naps when the other kids do. It's good that she has the energy to play.. but she gets pretty cranky after lunch.

Niki.chr: I mean, I have been trying to move her to baby foods and not just breast milk. Would that be the issue?

Theo: Maybe so, but then there's also this...

Mr. Theo picks up a paper he had and puts it on the table.

Mr. Theo: Kanoa tends to bite other children when they come into contact with her. The daycare has been calling you for this issue many times.

Aon: I thought you said there wasn't any problems with her.

Mr. Theo: Ah, this isn't a major problem. Most kids bite for reasons.. they get annoyed, it's like a way to say "Don't touch me." Or something like that. But she also bites for no apparent reason. A couple of other kids have been getting injured because of it and the staff is becoming concerned.

Aon: That sounds like a problem to me. I haven't gotten any calls about this. turns to Niki Have you?

Niki.chr: Absolutely not.

Mr. Theo would sigh and look at both of you with a serious look.

Mr. Theo: You can't be serious.. One of the kids she bit went home with one of the staff, their little face was covered in bite marks. The child has been acting different since then.. it hurts the others to be in the same room as Kanoa. That is why we are concerned about her, she's a child who bites for no reason. And you haven't answered any of the daycare's calls about the issue.

Aon: Now hold on-

Niki.chr: stops Aon Aon, I got this. So you say that my one year old child is misbehaving. Let me guess, the parent of the child is so upset that they want us to have Kanoa take some expensive behavior lessons which you coincidentally also host.

Mr. Theo sighs and shakes his head... why are all parents like this? Mr.Theo would cross his arms and look at you both.

Mr. Theo: I'm a daycare teacher, not a conman. I care deeply about the children here. I want to see them become healthy and happy. This isn't a scam, there's no classes to teach Kanoa not to bite other children, but we're worried of more child's safety in the daycare when she's in. A child biting another child who's never bitten another child in their life until recently.
