Episode 28: Is Cain Able?

Summerford, Estaria

We cut to Era, in his apartment, sitting alone, Maro's head mocking him.

Maro: You lazy cretan, don't you have work?!

Era: I told you this a thousand times already, most of the job is work from home. I only need to go to the office once a week.

Maro: Excuses, excuses.

Era: Hey! At least when I'm at home, my job isn't at risk of getting their walls smashed through.

Era, for some reason, flinches.

Maro: What was that?

Era: Sorry, usually when something is said like that, the wall get broken thro-

In a moment, Era feels himself getting tackled to the ground. On top of him is a snakelike woman in a red dress.

???: Hey there. Sorry about that. I have to kill you. Boss's orders and I want to test myself against you.

Era: cough You know. cough You could test yourself without killing me.

The woman considers this for a brief second.

???: Eh, fine. If one of us gets knocked out first, we stop. Deal?

Era: Deal. Can I get up so we can have a fair fight?

Cain gets off of you, and waits for you to stand back up. She then gets a wide, toothy grin and spreads her arms out in front of her, challenging you.

Era: gets in a fighting stance What's your name, by the way?

Cain lets out a hiss of amusement at that question. 

Cain: I'm Cain. Who're you, handsome?

Era: Era. You look a lot like Demencia from Villainous.

Cain gives a devious, toothy grin. 

Cain: I'm a bit less bloodthirsty than her, though. And I prefer red over yellow.

Era: Pretty sure she was a Lime girl, but I don't know your Demencia. Anyways, let's begin.

Cain smiles and gives a dramatic wave, as a large pillar of fire begins forming between the two. 

Cain: Yeah. Let's make this fun. 

She flicks her tails and launches a series of fireballs at you.

Era dodges the fireballs easily.

Era: Whoa! Hey, careful, I don't want the building to burn down.

Cain shrugs and giggles mischievously as she prepares another volley of fire. 

Cain: Don't worry, this'll be a short fight.

Era: Probably.

Suddenly, the electronics on Cain's side begin to shift and squirm before ensnaring her.

Cain begins shifting her body around and trying to get out of the electrical traps, but the more she struggled, the tighter is seemed to get.

Cain then let out a chuckle and grinned.
