Episode 21: Shadow Over Summerford

Summerford, Estaria

We cut to the streets of Summerford, as several SKE Suits stand in the city's center, aimed at the sky, ready to defend the city from the Face Raider threat.

There's some chatter being heard on the radio channel of the suits.

Suit 1: Any of ya's got 'em on sight yet?

Suit 2: Negative! I have nothing on scanner either...

Suit 3: All I got are these civilians that keep wandering into the warzone!

As they were talking, a face raider suddenly comes plummeting down through the atmosphere like a meteor.

Suit 3: Hey! I see something coming towards us real fast!

More begin to fall. There are several of the basic face raiders, the yellow orbs with propellers on their head that lead them to fly, but this time they are accompanied by several raiders that are more wall than raider, alongside giant scarabs which eat at buildings, all of them display a distorted face on their screens.

Suit 1: Contact! Contact!

Suit 2: Engage fire!

With that order, the SKE Suits open fire on the advancing enemies. The yellow ones are the first to be taken down, followed by the wall raiders and the big scarabs. Despite this, some more of the creatures continue advancing on them with the ground shaking as some of the bigger ones stomp closer.

Suit 3: Uh... I'm counting 30 big ones coming to our location!

Suit 2: 30?!

Suit 1: Damn... Alright, this is what we were built to do. Suit up everyone!

With that said, the other Suits open up compartments in them to gain additional artillery, like jet-propelled rockets on their shoulders and a minigun on the left arm.

With the additional artillery, the SKE Suits immediately open fire on the incoming waves of raiders. Each shot is precise and devastating. The big ones take several direct hits before being taken down. The smaller ones are easily taken out as they can barely withstand a single shot.

After a hard-fought battle, the final raiders are taken down. They are littered around the street. The SKE Suits stand around for a moment to see if any other raiders appear. Surprisingly, none do.

Suit 3: Is... was that the last of them?

Suit 1: I sure hope so...

As the three Suits are chatting, the city block suddenly begins to rumble.

Suit 2: What the hell is that?

Suit 3: I got a bad feeling about this.

As it rumbles, the skies begin to darken, like something is blocking the sun.

One of the Suits looks up to the sky.

Suit 2: Hey, what's taking away the light?

Suit 1: Wait... is the sun blocl- OH F-

Before he could even finish saying a word, he was cut off when a massive raider suddenly appeared overhead. Its gargantuan head blocked the sun, leaving them in nothing but darkness as it stared at the Suits.
