Episode 5: Casting Out of the Cooler

Shadow Realm

Niki.chr is currently being escorted by a Caligo Guard to a specific area inside the corridors of one of the stone brick structures. The Caligo, a purple Bombay breed tabaxi, is informing Niki of something that was delivered into the Shadow Realm as of recently.

Niki.chr: So, you mean to tell me that you received a mirror from a small girl with a TV head, and you all thought it was a good idea to bring it into the Shadow Realm?

Caligo Guard: They...weren't thinking properly Miss Niki. So far, all it has done is shown a reflection of you that was...off.

Niki.chr: Well, I'm not going to keep it. After you are done escorting me to the room where Lord Freezer is, I want you to lock that mirror out of reach of anyone and execute the ones who specifically brought in the mirror.

Caligo Guard: Yes Miss Niki.

The two of them eventually make it to a door that led to a cell of sorts.

Niki.chr: You managed to make sure the Ice Box is properly contained, right?

Caligo Guard: Yes Miss Niki, we've even had two Caligo Priests at the ready.

Niki.chr: Good.

Niki.chr enters the cell.

The guard opens the door and holds it. The Ice Box is inside the room, with the crown on its top and its cold gaze in the direction of the door. There is no sign of the priests, nor of any sign of movement at all besides the Ice Box's gaze.

Niki.chr: We need more priests.

Caligo Guard: Yes Miss Niki.

The Caligo Guard goes to get more priests, leaving Niki alone with the Ice Box.

Lord Freezer, the Ice Box, stays silent, waiting for Niki. The gaze pierces into her soul.

Niki.chr: If you're going to try to intimidate me, you have to try harder than that. I once negotiated the soul of several concepts out of the hands of the one who put you into that thing.

Lord Freezer's stare remains unchanging, and is silent, although the intense cold emanating from its gaze seems to have a mind of its own, trying, in vain, to freeze Niki.chr's insides.

Niki.chr: You may have been able to kill the previous priests in here, but that pentagram encircled around you can only bend so much.

The coldness of the gaze increases. The crown on Lord Freezer starts to vibrate, and the box itself starts glowing a dim red.

The two Caligo priests finally arrive.

Niki.chr: Father Halberd, Father Jules, I believe that this box is for you.

The two priests smile, as in Caligo quasi-culture, names are not given to Caligo unless they are of importance. The two priests ready the words of Yumuren and begin circling the Ice Box.

Lord Freezer's gaze starts to burn red. It's freezing power has been contained, although for how long is uncertain. The crown on the box starts to glow so brightly that one can barely look at it, and the Ice Box starts to slowly float upwards, as if it's being pulled, pulled by Lord Freezer's force of will. Although he is stuck inside, his power refuses to be held back.

Father Jules: Back! Yumuren's words compel you to!

Lord Freezer's power starts to falter! The cold is not as intense as before, but it is still present. Lord Freezer tries to fight back, but the priests' power is stronger than he thought! Lord Freezer's aura of authority is slowly being suppressed, and Lord Freezer is, for the moment, being forced to give in to the priests' words. He starts, albeit slowly, to float back down.
