Episode 36: Era's Date

Era's Apartment, Summerford, Estaria

We cut to Era getting ready for his date with Ruby Smith which he won from a gameshow.

Era: Cain, how do I look?

Cain slithers from her room as Era adjusts his tie. Her mouth hangs open as she looks him up and down, a surprised look in her eyes.

Cain: Y-you look good. You look great.

Era: You stammered. Does this look bad? Am I over thinking this?

She snaps out of it, waving her hands.

Cain: You're fine, you're fine! You look great. No, amazing. If she doesn't like you then she doesn't deserve you...

Era: Right. Right...

Cain puts a hand on his shoulder.

Cain: Dude, it's gonna be alright. Just take some deep breaths before going over there and be yourself. I'm sure everything will go fine.

Era: Yeah...thanks.

She gives him a tight smile, before punching his shoulder.

Cain: Now get going! You don't wanna be late.

Era Ow, right. See you tonight. Goes to the doorframe and turns around. Don't set fire to the house now!

Cain laughs and crosses her arms, leaning against the wall.

Cain: No promises, buddy. Good luck!

Era's monitor head shows a happy face emoji, and he shuts the door behind him.

Cain watches as he leaves. She sighs, sitting down on the couch. After a moment, she grins, and mutters to herself.

Cain: This is gonna be interesting...

The Fanciest Restaurant in Estaria

We cut to Era, Concept of the Internet, on a date with Ruby Smith, due to her winning a date with him on a gameshow.

Ruby, wearing a flower necklace, is sat at a table with Era. A steak is sitting on her plate, currently being cut up with a knife.

Ruby: So, what's your... job, anyway? I've heard some conflicting things about you.

Era: Well, originally, I was working tech support, but I eventually quit, mostly because Cain, my roommate and not-sister-sister, got me into the business of mercenaries.

Ruby: Ah, so you fight and kill for a living, eh?

Ruby chuckled, continuing to cut her steak.

Era: Only the bad guys. I included that policy to our little business to make sure Cain didn't cross any lines.

Ruby: Huh... so you only kill bad people? I'm glad to hear that.

Ruby said, as she put a piece of steak in her mouth.

Ruby: It's good to hear that the person I got on a date with isn't a psychotic maniac.

She let out a bit of a laugh as she said that.

Era: Yeah, I've really mellowed out over the years. If you met me a few years ago, I would have kept flashing emojis over and over again on my monitor head every time I had a different emotion. Now it's just the blue of my desktop.
